Lovely clean hotel . Friendly staff , large rooms. Conveniently situated about 15 mins walk from the city centre .

Staff were excellent, food was lovely and room was cosy, had a lovely 2 nights and would definitely visit again.

We have visited York many times, but 1st time in this hotel. Beautiful art nouveau decor. The room was nice but the staircase to the second floor was just beside us and you could hear people going up and down. There were a couple of ladies ladies in the room above, who were speaking very loudly until 2.00am! The breakfast was excellent, not a lot of choice but very good produce and kept hot. The cocktail bar was a bit of a let down as the young girls didn’t have a clue as how to make them. Overall a good stay but could have been better.

This was our second time staying at this hotel. Again we had a great stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were spotless and comfortable.

The staff for this hotel are amazing and they are the ones who make this place what it is. They go that extra mile to help with whatever you need and happy to suggest places too - kudos to the team who made my stay so wonderful

No bedside tables. AC was too noisy. Running a tap results in loud tapping noise near the room

Arrived prior to 3pm. Waiting until gone 3pm for room access (website says from 3pm) room was ready at 3.20pm ( we had driven for 4 hours to hotel) I wasn’t happy, just wanted a shower more than anything, let’s not forgot, at the time of booking the room was £250 per night!! We waited in the bar until given the key. I was I informed we had been given an upgrade, and yes this did help, my fiancé was very happy 😊. Parking is not the best! 6 spaces directly opposite the hotel, over the road. The rest (approximately 10 spaces) are along the side of the hotel. Alternatively there is a school up the road, but it’s expensive! £18 for 24 hours!!!

Lovely hotel, just a 20 minute walk into york centre or plenty of public transport just outside the hotel. Comfortable beds & nice rooms. Breakfast is good

We had a lovely one night stay. The bedroom was beautifully decorated. We had a queen size bed which was very comfortable. The bathroom was stunning and a great size With a power shower and illuminated magnifying mirror. The location of the hotel is very convenient only a 15 minute walk to the centre of York.

We were upgraded to a beautiful room which was fab, only downside was no draws etc to put clothes only 1 wardrobe and we was there for 3 nights

The decor was definitely unique and had it's own character. Rooms are smaller than they appear. Corridors are narrow and the whole hotel is very dimly lit. Stairs are very creaky. Air conditioning was temperamental. Stunning bathroom (albeit small) with good water pressure for shower. High quality toiletries supplied. The shower head holder was not properly fixed to the wall so could have fallen off at any time. The cupboard in the room was poorly positioned and so one half of the cupboard could not even be opened properly (the door would hit the curtain pelmet after less than 30 degrees opening. Another cabinet door was poorly screwed in and so was loose. Overall not the quality you'd expect from a Hilton. Seems as though it's a hotel that has been forgotten about. Could really do with some attention to all the little things that make or break your stay.

The only negative would be there was no parking available at the hotel as there was very limited spaces which were already taken. We did park on the school car park which was very close by for an additional £20.

What a beautiful hotel with fabulous decor and planting. Our room was spacious and very comfortable - the only slight negative was that the air con didn’t work. We were very pleased to find an in-room fridge and complimentary bottled water on a hot day. The staff provided exemplary service with a smile. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to others.

Beautiful property. Really clean and well designed. We were very pleased with our room, bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in! Shower lovely - hot and powerful. Only issue was a noisy family who were staying in the room above us, kept us awake at night and woke us very early in the morning. Due to wooden flooring and children running on the floors it impacted the quality of our sleep which was very disappointing. Parking wasn’t an issue as plenty of space. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was delicious but the service was not particularly friendly or welcoming sadly. We would have expected a higher calibre of friendly staff for such a lovely hotel.

Overall our stay was fantastic, friendly staff and so helpful. Would book again. Even though one or two down points. A funny smell in the stairwell carpet in the corridor looks a bit worn, and little bits in the room not cleaned properly ( hair pins on the floor and used toilet roll behind the door) but apart from that it was a great stay.

Very friendly service. Beautiful hotel and we both found very clean, traditional for an aged english building. We were able to park the car at the venue 3 hours early for no extra charge which allowed us to make the most of our time. Breakfast was very good, and there was an option to sit outside which was ideal as we got lucky with the weather. Bar is open till 1am also.

We loved this hotel - the people who work here are all awesome, our room was wonderful and York has got to be the best kept secret in England. Most highly recommend this hotel for any leisure traveler.

This hotel room was big , spacious and clean BUT there was no elevator, it was on third floor and no help offered to carry luggage. I have sciatica issues so it was difficult. Also after the room was cleaned the bath tissue was not replenished which we had to request! No microwave in the room
