You can't beat the location + price combination! Walkable (about a mile or so) to Lane Stadium, so you could avoid parking fees and traffic for games, graduations, and other events.
While the facility is older, the staff keep the rooms fresh, clean, and comfortable. They even had a nice size mini fridge and microwave.
The best aspect are the people. I get the impression this is a family-owned motel, and they were incredibly nice. I came in late evening Saturday for the Hokie Half Marathon on Sunday. The gentleman at the front desk greeted me, we had a fund conversation as I checked in, and he offered to help me with parking in the back.
Moreover, when I explained I was there for the race, they offered a late checkout. I was able to come back, rest for a bit, and shower without being bothered by the cleaning team.
The cleanliness, comfort, price, and small niceties make this my new go-to when I'm in Blacksburg.

Wonderful stay at a price I can afford. No bells or whistles, but that’s ok bc I’m not in the room for extras. Just a clean and comfortable place to sleep and shower. Friendly staff. Great location for VT parents. Will be booking again.

We were very late so we had checked in earlier and it was awesome being able to just pull up to the room door and go in. No lobby, no hallways no elevators, etc.

It was a great stay excellent location 6min drive to VT and christianburg surrounded by restraurents grocery stores target walmart kroger and what not. Its a Landmark in itself and yes Mr anf Mrs Hary are excellent host and are personally available to make your stay cool.

I was a bit nervous going to a 2 star motel BUT in spite of it being old the outside was clean as well as inside AND the owner and his wife were so nice. In fact when we were carrying a plastic bin of clothes to the upper floor the owners wife quickly grabbed the tub from my husband and brought it to our room. Never had that happen at other hotels. I would definitely stay here again. A very pleasant surprise

This is a place located on a quiet road outside of the Virginia Tech campus and downtown Blacksburg. It is older and very basic in every way; there is no coffee maker in the room. Last check-in is at 11:00, and they were waiting up for us at 10:00. They helped us park and offered to help us carry in our luggage, a level of helpfulness I have not seen at any similar property.

I always stay at the Red Carpet Inn while visiting Blacksburg, VA. The beds are comfortable, the towels are soft, the TV is large and for the price, the room was large. The staff was friendly and personable. Location was also excellent as it's close to VA Tech.

For the price this is a great option!! I stayed here several years ago and it was just ok, it has improved since then. Also I noticed when booking, many of the negative comments are from several years ago, so obviously they have improved and that truly is the case!!
