A lovely big room. Clean and comfortable and friendly staff. It has a great location - very short walk to the train station. I would stay here again.

My stay at Hotel Besso was a wonderful experience. The employees were gracious, thoughtful, and hard workers. Shout out to Cristian simultaneously working the front desk, making sure breakfast was in order every morning, and answering any question that guests had (in 4 different languages) The hotel is quiet, clean, and in a convenient location in front of a bus stop and 5 minute walking distance from train station. There is also a good pizza restaurant around the corner. A full breakfast (muesli, cereal, cured meats, croissant, fruit) costs 10 CHF per person and is filling, delicious, and a valuable meal option considering the high cost of living Switzerland is known for. I highly recommend this hotel and would only stay here if I ever return to Lugano.

The only thing I remember is the receptionist not letting me stay after my check out in the lobby, because my train was leaving 3 hours later, so I had to go to a different place. I found that strage. I guess overall the stay was ok. not bad nothing special.

Very good costumer service

We paid double for the room because we were four people. The room was a bit bigger but they just squeeze 4 full sizes bed. The bathroom was nice, but just a tub with no curtains so if you don't want to water the entire bathroom you need to squat. It says there is parking but it is really limited and they said because we booked through expedia we had top pay for it. The location is great and close to downtown. Overall it is ok for one night

We only stayed one night on a trip to bring my daughter to college. It was very clean. Rooms were nice. Good choice for the price. It was close to the train station which was very helpful.

Little noisy but awesome location to train station and downtown. Great breakfast. Pass for free public transportation( great deal and very convenient).

The room was perfect , even more than expected, the staff were friendly, they even offered us free tickets for transportation and discounts for site seeing visits

The hotel was standard, and had what you would guess. Staff was friendly, and the location was only a 15-20 min walk to the lake. All in all okay, but price is high, but I guess that's what it cost in that part of the country.

we just slept the night and left by 7am. No AC in the room, we had to sleep with the windows open in a thunderstorm night. Location was very convenient and close enough to the train station.

My room was covered in cleaning perfume, so I needed to open the windows for a while. Definitely a smoker friendly place, but my room had no smell of it from the perfume thing. Great view, great price, working wifi.

It was very basic and clean, too small for family, but it was ok.

The hotel staff was wonderful in helping us find the bus connection to Varenna. A nice breakfast was offered for a small charge. This hotel is very close and behind the train station so dont make the mistake of the funicular bus that goes down the hill! There is an elevator but no AC, however a fan in the room and nice big windows were fine in June. Overall, a very comfortable stay.

Clean room. Basic amenities. The shower did not have a door, just a curtain. The hotel is on a busy street, but they do have parking on the side of the bldg (they have to buzz you in to park and take the car out).I appreciated the hotel letting me check in early and my flight arrived at 8:30 am.

The room was clean and it had everything I needed, wireless, a clean big bathroom, air conditioner, flat screen TV and a comfortable bed (actually I was given a large three-bed-room although I originally asked for a single). It had a big balcony overlooking the busy street going to town center, a distant half view of the lake. It is an old building but taken very good care of. Even if they might still delay a total interior renivation; they certainly need to have new window fences and sealings to block the occasional street noise; it was the only downside I could see. I recommend this hotel to families and business travelers alike; if you nightsleep is carefree.
