Decent hotel, nice room, good location. Very unprofessional staff, maxed out my credit card with unnecessary preauthorisations, cleaners don’t respect do not disturb sign on door.

Clean and comfortable beds!

This hotel is always clean, rooms are comfortable and there’s enough desk space if your need to work. Staff are all approachable and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Whenever I come to Haarlem the Bastion is always my first choice. Also the Hotel manager has a can do attitude and no problem is to big well done!

Good breakfast, friendly personnel, was only a one night stay so didn't see the area or anything.

It close to Haarlem, with good bus service close by

Upon requesting additional blankets fo our 82year old mother we were told you dont have extra bankets. Later on another employee went and found some for us. Per this experiance qwe do not think we will return to bastion hotels.

The heating/ air con unit making a noise all night long. It was the same in every room and everyone was saying the same thing.

The hotel is no frills. The rooms are perfectly adequate. Very clean. Good Toilet & shower en suite . Comfortable beds. The Air con is a bonus. Proper coffee making facilities.We ate in the hotel. The menu is small but the food is good and not expensive. Excellent breakfasts.We use this hotel when going to Zandvoort racing circuit. The car park will accommodate a car an trailer without a problem.Will use again:)

I have no idea why I found it in chapter "Hotels of Amsterdam" if this city in half of hour away from the capital. Room were not so good but clean. Bathroom are not comfortable at all. Climate control in rooms automatically decreased temperature to 21 after 30 minutes so it was really cold (weather +8 outside and rain) and I get sick because of it. One more thing : we couldn't lock our door in room and it was possible just with opened window. Staff just says "we can't do anything with this". So room on the 1st floor stays with opened window all the time when we were out. I wanted to move from the hotel but it was impossible to get back money from the next day of reservation.

The property was conveniently located, the staff was friendly, and I was given an upgraded room. The bar/restraint area smelled like cigarette smoke and although my room was non smoking other guests were smoking in the hallways and rooms which caused my room to smell like smoke as well.. I would stay here again for sure because of the staff and convenience but would prefer not to have to deal with the smoke issues.

Everything good for the money and quieter location, but the one big downer was that the bed linen was too narrow even for single beds, so couldn't be tucked round the mattress & was just flopping about & not at all good to sleep on.

Excellent hotel! Fabulous experience I had. Little bit far from down town that’s the only cons.

This wasn’t the location I had booked but that was not down to the hotel it was this site so I wanted to be right in Amsterdam and was given this one that is 11 miles away but it’s a good job it’s easy to get around but hotel was nice beds was amazing

This is a fairly basic hotel. Good shower Comfortable beds. Never did make the air con to work properly. Good secure car parking. Friendly staff. The rooms were clean but the hallways needed a hoover. It has a lift to all floors. Breakfast good. We used the restaurant once. Quite limited at the weekend but very acceptable. Has a couple of UK channels on the TV. It could do with black out curtains. Very convenient for Zandvoort race circuit. I would use again :)
