Wonderfully restored Victorian hotel in a small one street town near Clearlake. Owners and staff are delightful. Regular live music performances and good comfort food and cocktails. Will be back!

This place is a gem. The music they have in the courtyard is wonderful. Restaurant is exceptional. We had a fabulous stay and will return again soon!

What a beautiful and historic hotel. The entire experience was lovely. The location was perfect for us - out of the way tucked in a tiny town with a coffee shop and a restaurant and a couple of small stores. It was off season, and that was perfect for us. The weather was gorgeous and we were surrounded by mountains and birds... Breakfast was delicious but short for those of us that like to sleep in or those of us that like to leave at the crack of dawn to go explore... 8am - 9:30am. I would have given them a higher score, but the bed didn't agree with my back, the room was located facing the street and the lighting at night was bright, which is not a bad thing - just some better coverage for the windows. Other than that, it was a great stay!

Front desk was so friendly and helpful. They even texted us ahead of time for directions to check in if we got in late. Room was lovely; bed was unexpectedly comfortable. Gorgeous views accompanied a decent restaurant next door (with GREAT staff). Sad we didn't get enough time here. Would return!

Highly recommended for a romantic getaway. The the staff were sweet, knowledgable and friendly, entire facility was clean, well kept and had lots of ambiance. We absolutely loved it and will be returning. Got to ring that bell!

AWSOME!!! picture is exactly the room i will return property is very clean and staff is courteous and tentative to your needs the pool is great and the light breakfast they service is fresh no hot stuff but good fruit and delicious pastry. not to mention the live music they have out on the patio which is connected to the blue wing restaurant love there food atmosphere is relaxing you will need to stay in one of ther cottages too!!

Nice, big room. Great restaurant and bar with live music out in the patio. Beautiful garden areas on the property. The pool could have used a skimming maybe more that once per day. A number of bugs were in the pool in the afternoon. Great soaking tub and patio with room. Friendly and Helpful staff.

We enjoy the quiet cottage and grounds around the hotel. What we were disappointed in was that the shops near by close down pretty early.

I liked the pool, café and loved the plants and breakfast.

I adore the Tallman! It isn't cheap but is a lovely splurge. The rooms are so comfortable and beautifully appointed. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is yummy - a selection of European style pastries, steel-cut oatmeal with lots of toppings, fresh juice, yogurts, hard-boiled eggs and great coffee. Having the Blue Wing Saloon as an integral part of the hotel is convenient and enhances the overall fantastic experience. Love, love, love the Tallman!!

Tallman is a wonderful tribute to the local history - incorporating a deep respect to the local flora and fauna with nature themed decor. This was such a special experience for my mom and I. We enjoyed and luxuriated in the very lovely suite and soaking tub.

Tallman is the best place to relax and unwind. Its nestled in a very small town and far enough from the highway you don't hear any. Will keep going back for sure

We stayed in the main hotel. The room was clean and pretty. I would definitely return here but maybe stay in a cottage. Has their own parking lot but there’s no issue with finding parking on the street. Upper lake as a town is fairly run down so the hotel seems a little out of place. Rundown but not dangerous or unsafe. Lots of great outdoor seating area to relax but we went in early September when it’s over 100 degrees so we didn’t hang outside much until sun went down or early morning. Pool is small. Restaurant across the way is good. A little pricey. As for complaints, check in us at 4 which is on the later side and considering that check out is 1030 I think they could make checkin earlier.

Quaint, modern, immaculate, luxurious, perfect! Loved the sister restaurant next door too.
