It was ok, the hotel is near to the old town, the breakfast was also ok and the staff was nice…
But…..
There are 2 rooms on the ground floor. The doors of these 2 rooms is so close to each other. We‘ve got the one of them. In the night 2 am the hotel accepted new guests for the other room. The receptionist ask in front of our door the passports of the new guests and have some conversations. It was so noisy!!!! Disrespectful !!!
I’m not sure that I will chose this hotel for the next time…

H.com really lied about this hotel...their information on several hotels in Italy was all poor. I don't think they have actually looked at the properties. I've used them for 10+ years and now with Expedia owning them the quality of the loyalty program and the truth of their ads about the properties has gone way down! Engadina, called themselves a 2 star in Como..but 1 star is more like it. And the H.com ad for the hotel pitches it like a 3 star, its NOT! The hotel was only marginally clean, location was good, the standard European breakfast was fine, cheese, sliced meat, bread and juice. Yogurt if you wanted some. Beds in the rooms need replacing and ours had a separate twin bed with the double, but was advertised as a sofa...the pictures are not what the condition of the rooms are like. The hotel is trying to be a 2 star, but has a way to go. Expedia and H.com should really review their Italian properties and get their star rating right...just tell the truth. When you are comparing properties in a place you have not been you need the truth to know how much to pay, based on accurate property descriptions. If I was a kid looking for a hostel Engadina is fine, but if I'm an older couple....it doesn't work. I know Como is expensive, but good information would have helped me set a good budget for the hotel in the City. And we experienced this problem several times in our Month in Italy. Never before had such bad information from H.com in 10+ years.

Hotel was a little older and the room was incredibly small. I wouldnt call it dingy but could use some sprucing up. For price you get what you get.

We did not like this hotel very much. We had a very simple and sad room cramped with four basic beds, a view towards a wall and an unpleasant smell.
The hotel is close to the lake, but right on a major road.
The pictures of rooms and lobby look a lot better than in real life.
Cannot recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Engadina! It was clean and only a 5 minute walk from the center of Como. The hotel could use some updating but the room itself was perfect for a weekend getaway. It was a great value for location and the staff was friendly.

Despite the fact that location was great and staff was friendly, breakfast was very poor consisted of bread, cheese & salami . Mattress in room 114 was very uncomfortable.

As a 3-star hotel, the room has been comfortable and supplied with sufficient amenities. The hotel was easy to get to from Como San Giovanni train station too, and is not too secluded. A bus stop is within very close proximity to the hotel as well. Desk staff members had all been very nice and helpful.

I have stayed at this property a number of times and have always been satisfied. The Hotel is a short walk from the centre of town, has good value standard accommodation, quiet rooms and friendly staff. the breakfasts are served to you in the morning and there is a good selection... overall, good value for money.

Good Hotel for a basic one night stay. Close to Train station and Lake Como, both in walkable distance. Staff were nice. Electric kettle or microwave were not provided in room but staff helped us to heat our own food in their kitchen microwave and provided us hot water for tea whenever we asked. I would recommend them any day.

Staff is friendly, but the room I stayed was terrible. Shower cabin has retractable door which fold inwards, almost impossible to get out normaly.
Bed has a spring matras which is broken. Springs gives a sound with every movement in bed, and feels uncomfortable.

Great budget accommodation in Como. Only a few minutes walk from San Giovanni train station, 24hr supermarket, Lake Como and the town centre. Facilities are basic but reflective of the cost of the hotel and the hotel is clean and tidy. Decent breakfast to set you up for the day. A tiny issue with room was dealt with professionally and promptly. Ideal base for Monza Grand Prix (cheaper than Milan).

Stayed in the Engadina for 5 nights in July. As a 3 star it fully met our expectations. The staff even made us a packed up breakfast one morning for a 6:30 start. Only criticism was free parking in front of the hotel is limited to 3 spaces meaning we had to pay 4 euros for a couple of the nights.

Quite near train station and not too far from old town. Free wifi and bottled water in room. Sadly no coffee tea maker but receptionist would gladly make one for you when requested. Breakfast is substantial to start the day. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

The room was very nice, the bedding was a bit dated bit it was very clean and comfortable. The stuff was very kind and attending. We enjoyed our stay and it is very close to the lake. You can go for a night walk along the lake on foot.

Horrible hotel! Avoid at all cost. Smells like an infirmary. Rooms are tiny, even the larger room we booked. We looked at the room and decided we could not stay here. This looks like a “by the hour” hotel. The owner was very uncooperative and would not refund any of our prepaid fee. I would avoid this place like the plague.
