Nice lodge/motel, a little bit away from the city center. Quiet and peaceful. Owner/manager was VERY friendly and helpful. Room was serviced/cleaned each day with fresh towels and tea, etc. which was much appreciated. Future guests should know that the shared kitchen is not much of a kitchen; there is no oven and no proper stove (only a hot plate). This was not an issue for us, but it might be for others who are expecting to cook their meals. Overall a very nice stay and I would recommend the Aotearoa Lodge to others.

The place was very clean and quiet and the room large and comfortable. The room really needed a comfy chair though and the shower was very old fashioned but the water was nice and hot. The wi-fi was very good but the TV only had 3 watchable channels.

Owner of place very friendly, made our stay enjoyable. The owner did go out of there way and allowed us to park our trailer on grass area. Only downfall, plunger coffee extra not included in free items.Would highly recommend this motel.

Very nice stay. Great hospitality and service. Only thing to work on would be TV channels only 4. Freeview has at least 11 channels for no charge and should be minimum if no Sky TV.

Bad: almost no water in the shower, bathroom super cold, annoying LEDs in the room (aircon and tv with strong light during the night even when turned off), only lukewarm water for tea (had to go to my room to get a kettle to get actual tea) in the very limited breakfast, horribly soft bed (so much back pain!) and no bathtub.

Very peaceful and comfortable with pleasant service. The bed was beautifully made and very comfy and I appreciated the good chair to sit in to watch TV. Just a little away from restaurants and eateries. Don’t miss the excellent Nespresso machine in the breakfast room.
