Fantastic hotel, Mr Dong booked our Ha Giang loop tour for us and it was absolutely incredible. He went out of his way to make our trip memorable, he is a great asset to this hotel.

The staffs are very nice. Brian, Kim and Mc dong are exceptionally nice and helpful. They assisted us in every aspects and throughout the whole stay which we enjoyed it very much and felt very warm. Recommended.

This property is just steps away from St-Joseph’s Cathedral, close to many sights and great dining options. The hotel is very clean, the satff is incredibly friendly and focused on catering to their customers’ needs. The breakfast buffet was delicious. This place is a hidden gem in Hanoi.

This hotel has everything you could ask for at this price point. Nice clean rooms. The service is exceptional. The breakfast is good for the price point, but it could be better.
The hotel manager Mr. Harry, was very helpfull with booking transportation and tours for the north of vietnam. Be sure to ask for the name of the hotels and tours you are gonna be on. He did not tell us, so it felt confusing at times. The hotels and tours he booked for us, were great though. No complaints.

The hotel is in the small alley, taxi is not able to go in. You will need to walk around 5 minutes. Take note if you have many luggages or in the raining day. It could be an hassle 😅
Otherwise, the location is convenient, we just behind the Church, plenty of food choices 😍

I enjoy creature comforts while traveling. Many of which this hotel had: "turbo" air conditioner, comfortable beds, clean towels, hot shower, friendly and helpful staff. The lack of an elevator for a 6 level hotel made things a bit dicey for a BIG American Guy like myself. But, let me be clear this "budget hotel" meets expectations. No more, no less. They do a good job and you'll get a good night's rest.

AVOID THIS HOTEL
The service provided by Dong and Harry were magnificent BUT the rooms we got were not what was advertised, they were run down, across the road and part of another hotel, no lift and the rooms were in the 6th and 3rd floor with very steep and narrow stairs.
Also, we had belongings STOLEN from our room by the hotel staff but nothing was done about this other than waiving airport pickup and drop off fees which weren’t even a quarter the price of the stolen goods. Don’t stay here, your belongings are not safe.

Excellent location. Being very near the cathedral made it easy to find amongst the maze of narrow streets in the old town.

Stayed in this hotel for one night on the way back from ha long bay and it was a great place to stay when visiting the city. Set back off the main road makes it a lot quieter than some of the other hotels in the city. The staff were super friendly and helpful providing us with everything we needed. They even booked us a very cheap transfer to the airport which made it a lot easier when grab can be a bit hit and miss from the airport. With a really good breakfast included too this hotel was a great price and just as good as the one we stayed in the other night we were in Hanoi which was double the price.

Harry was a bit pushy on the halong boat trip Demanded we pay in american dollars which we did with travel card then did his own conversion to dong which added more to the trip.Blue Daimond was not the luxury boat that Harry and the brochure made it out to be, with overpriced drinks and overcrowded buffet.

We had a nice stay at Splendid Star. The staff is exceptional and helped a lot with booking an overnight bus to Sa Pa and to the airport. They were able to throughly explain our options for transportation and book the right one for us. Location is convenient to many points of interest and there’s great food/coffee all around. Note, since it’s a narrow street, cars cannot come directly to the hotel, but that was not a problem as the pickup person from any of the excursions / bus came to get us on foot and we walked to the vehicle. Other than that it’s a pretty standard 3/3.5 star hotel.

Front staff were nice, but the rooms were old and beds dirty. There were shoe prints on the bed linen and mold on the shampoo bottle and shower head. They switched us rooms, which was a little cleaner, but not by much. Witnessed the hotel cleaners on their phones and eating more than cleaning.

Good location in old town but looks nothing like photos. They pulled a bait and switch when we arrived they said they upgraded us to their other property and we walked 15 minutes with our luggage at 10 pm to a completely different hotel. Breakfast was supposed to be included but there was no breakfast at the “upgraded” hotel. Would not recommend this hotel.

Hotel located in the French Quarters in Hanoi. Hotel location far away from main road. Narrow alley street. The hotel and room I had booked was not even the same as shown on Expedia. Hotel owners own several hotels all in the same area.
Rooms are dirty, old, and not what I had expected from my booking.

Super convenient location, right by the cathedral and walking distance to all the major shopping streets. Exceptional service as well, staffs are all very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend

This was not a good stay. It was a very small “mini” hotel in the French Quarters. The coffee and breakfast was not good & this is Vietnam where they’re famous for their hot breakfasts. Will NOT stay here again nor will I refer anyone here. Poor customer service all around.
