Too far of everything

The key card would work only on your floor. So you couldn’t go to friend’s room. You would have to go down to the front desk to reset the key to go to a different floor……every time.

Was greeted at arrival, very attentive and great customer service when needed. Room was clean and tidy. * check with the front desk for exchange rates, they’re pretty accurate and will you give close to the current rate is via online.

The staff forgot to return the credit card deposit. They insisted that they have never kept it. Not one but three of them. I had to be little stern and asked them to double check. Only to find that they have indeed kept it. Then they eventually transacted a refund. I haven’t yet got it back though but this was a surprise at Le Méridien Saigon (a Marriot group hotel).

Loved the breakfast! And all the staff was always polite and helpful.

Needs some improvement

All of staff were friendly and highly accommodating to any needs that arose. This includes the front desk staff, bell staff, and restaurant staff. They even alwas remembered my name! Clean property and super clean rooms.

Le Meridien met my expectations. It is an attractive hotel with good food, service and amenities. The location is also a plus for visitors as the riverside park, ferry services and city centre are all a short walk away. Stayed there during a national holiday so the price was a little inflated but normally this hotel would be good value for the $$. I would consider staying there again, although there are many comparable options in the city.

The hotel is somewhat away from the hustle and bustle of district 1. Its about 30 mins walk to where all the good spots are. The hotel mainly serve for business men and their mistress that are dropped off in the wee hours. If you're traveling as a tourist, I'd suggest other 5 stars hotel. There was remodeling and construction still happening inside the lobby cafe, so we werent able to use that. The lobby is small for a 5 stars. The 9th floor lounge is quiet and dead 24/7. The swimming pool is cold ice, not heated and barely used by anyone. The casino next door, same building as the hotel is all electronic machines. No dealers at all.

We had an amazing stay at Le Meridien Saigon. The room is very spacious with nice view to the river and buildings. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The service overall is satisfactory. Highly recommended and we would stay here again next time.

staff was very attentive. The room is clean, and things are kept in good condition. the daily coffee is definitely a plus.

First class treatment all the way to us. We are very happy that they managed to get a repair man to come and fix both of our suitcase wheels which broke while we are there for a reasonable sum. We would definitely stay there again when we visit Ho Chi Minh again.

Le Meridien Saigon is colorful, posh, and undeniably upscale. Everything you would imagine when it comes to post-modern minimalism. At times, the decor can seem too simple, reductionist in a sense (the night stand is basic end table with no shelving) but at least it is a consistent theme throughout the hotel.The location is not central. I knew this coming in from reading previous reviews, but when we got there, it was clear that the hotel was really away from the central District 1 area. The river is not much of a sight (its swampy and industrial) and there is heavy construction happening on that side of town. Being at the riverfront means more traffic getting to the hotel. That said, if you want some privacy or would prefer not to be in the fray of Saigon.Breakfast buffet is delicious. Dont miss it. And dont forget to try their Vietnamese Coffee, good both iced and hot. Not sure why this wasnt mentioned in other reviews but the hotel is immediately next door to a Casino. Only non-Vietnamese citizens can gamble in Vietnam so if you want to hit the slots, bring your passport.The hotel room had some flaws (broken curtain), and the room we had was right next to the service elevator so there was some noise at night. The issue was addressed so it became a non-issue.Customer service was excellent, as expected.The takeaway is this: Le Meridien is an oasis away from the urban jungle. but if you want a central location, look somewhere else.
