Staff nice and place clean. Coffee at breakfast excellent.

Pleasant stay but hotel common areas are quite shabby. Noise from pub travels up through floor so do not expect to sleep until bar closes

Lovely place to stay. Very convenient for Busy Dt Edmunds town, walkable for all centre of town activities. All staff were very lovely. Rooms were clean and tidy. Bed comfortable.

Our stay was just for 3 days. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean with a lovely comfortable bed and a great walk in shower. The food was very good so we ate in on two nights. Generally the hotel was in need of refurbishment but this did not detract from our enjoyment.

Greene King needs to put some money into the facility. Paintwork was chipped in the whole building. Carpet was grubby. The shower had rust and mould. There were lightbulbs missing. The staff were nice but we would not stay there again.

Check in was efficient and friendly, room was nice, great size and lovely big shower room. Only real complaint was that the bed was so hard it was really quite uncomfortable and i woke up aching all over, but i would still stay again

We had a lovely stay at the Bushel for a weekend in Bury St Edmunds. Free parking, friendly staff and a great breakfast! Lots of character and charm in this 17 century coaching inn and still a buzzing pub until closing time.

The hotel room was very clean & tidy but the furniture, carpet, lighting were very worn & needed a significant upgrade. Staff very nice & breakfast good ,but restaurant meal uninspiring. Hotel is a pub & conveniently located for the centre of town, but also a little noisy.

All in all our stay at The Bushel was very good. We only stayed for one night, which was very comfortable. The only thing i picked up on was a minor house keeping point. Someone has cleaned a cup out in the bathroom and shaken the water out. this had left dark water spots on the wall in front of the sink. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order, and was very nice. Interaction with all the staff was very pleasant, and friendly. Great little place for an overnight stay!

Lovely impromptu stay at a local pub in Bury. Lovely staff clean tidy rooms. Nice bathrooms. Lots to do in and around Bury Saint Edmunds. Excellent food on premises as well.

The Bushell is my favourite pub will always stay there when i visit bury St Edmunds

The friendliness of the staff at reception upon arrival and in particular full kudos to Lizzy whom not only met us but also served us for the evening meal as well as Breakfast the next day. She is a great asset to the Pub and Hotel facilities. The Bushel is situated in easy walking distance to the Centre of Bury St Edmunds, and the parking is easy to get too.

Unfortunately my room was above the kitchen so i had the extractor fan noise throughout the whole of my stay. There was a slightly bad odour from the bathroom, and it would probably be a good time to paint over the damp stains on the ceiling! The service was excellent in the restaurant and dinner was good. Breakfast, however.... The hollandaise was split and the muffin was like a rubber bullet. But when I mentioned this it was refunded off my bill, so once again the service (if not the food) was good.

Room and hotel were spotless. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast and dinner were lovely. Would highly recommend!

Staying in an old building that was « just » a pub before is quite unique as the rooms are very different from the standard hotel. The only not expected surprise was the delivery of the metal beer barrels under our window at 7 am which lasted quite a while. Saying that it made us laugh more than anything else but if you don’t have the same humor as us ask for any other room except the one that is on the very beautiful Saint John’s Street. A great team and owner who facilitated our parking for the entire next day even though we hadn’t booked a second night. Thank you for that.

A nice room in Bury for the price. Room itself looks a bit dated, but the bed and bedding was nice. Shower nice and functional. Room seemed clean, but tge were a couple of cobwebs in some corners. Like with any room attached to a pub, it will be a bit noisy till closing. Food and drinks in the pub was good. Would stay here again

The team at the Bushell were so friendly and helpful. We were there for a wedding so didn't get to see or do too much in the area. Breakfast was really good both days we were there, the room names add character, shower was a really good pressure, you had all you need in the room.

All good, room comfortable, fresh cooked breakfast, very clean place, excellent location.

Comfortable bed with good linen and pillows . Room had everything you needed e.g iron & ironing board , hair dryer , tea tray and fan . Very nice breakfast & Adam who seemed to do every job in there was friendly, helpful & efficient. Good parking . Down sides the whole place looked grubby and in need of a paint & clean up . Paintwork in the bedroom was very grimy & marked , the shower tray had peeling plastcic & looked very unhygienic, shower tiles had mould as did the net curtains . Carpet needed replacing as did the side cabinets which were scratched and peeling paint . Had a bar neal which was very disappointing and bland . Paid £95 with breakfadt extra on top . Way way over priced for the rooms . Shame as it has potential.
