Would stay there again

It was clean and spacious enough for my 3 friends and I to be comfortable. Everyone I spoke to were friendly. It was easy to walk from there to almost anywhere we went for those few days. I’d definitely recommend this hostel.

It was comfortable and the woman in reception was super helpful in steering us toward the best places to see northern lights, which natural areas to visit, etc. It wasn’t really walkable to anything, so I think in the future I’d stay somewhere more central. Compared to other hostels, the bathrooms weren’t as convenient on the 1st floor, but the kitchen was spacious and clean and overall a good experience

We had a good stay at the hostel. It is a family (father and daughter) run hostel. Both were super friendly and had great tips and recommendations. They helped us to decide on best day and time for a whale watching tour and also arranged the booking for us. Kitchen was big and very clean. Just one information: only salt and sugar was available (no oil, pepper, etc) because they pay very big attention to keeping the kitchen clean and that no groceries from leaving people are still there. Room size was good for 2 people with 2 pcs of big luggage. Sufficient showers and toilets available.

We had an en-suit twin room, it was warm and quiet. It was easy to park at the back of the hostel and the hostel has a well equipped kitchen and communal space.Breakfast was included, but it was provided at a bakery about a 10 min walk from the hostel.This hostel is not very central, so it is a fair walk into the city centre.

Convenient location for driving. Plenty of parking. Walkable distanced to the city centre, the city is small enough to walk everywhere so the location was great. The en suite room was very pleasant and felt more like a hotel than a hostel for our stay. Breakfast included at the local bakery was excellent.

Stayed here for a night and found it to be a very clean hostel with friendly staff. Good kitchen too.

Great staff and excellent value for money ! You can either do self check-in or go to the reception where there is someone most of the time. If no one is at the reception there is a dedicated phone at the front door and someone gives you information 24/24 for checking-in and you can also reach the staff for any information. The staff is genuinely happy to help with check-in, directions, what to do in the city... You dont feel like you're bothering them when asking questions contrary to other hostels. Staff can do laundry, you just have to ask at the reception and they will bring it back to your room clean and dry (cost 1500 ISK, cheaper than most hostels). The rooms are good value for money, it's clean and bed is comfortable. The shower in the private bathroom is not small. The hostel is near main city attractions (10-15 min by foot) but located in a quiet neighborhood with a private parking which is nice.

Clean room! Linens were clean and fresh. Everything seemed quiet organized and friendly. Common baths were also clean and patrons seemed to respect one another. Nice location. We appreciated the baskets to label our food in the refrigerator. Clear check in and checkout instructions.

Twin room is small but clean. Shared shower is great unless you hit rush hour... Breakfast was served at a nearby cafe, and was really good.

This hotel/hostel was impeccably clean and well-organized. As usual, we look for the cheapest place around when booking through hotels.com and were not disappointed. The kitchen area was very large, clean, and well-stocked for utensils, etc. During front office hours (only 3 hours in the morning), we got recommendations, information, and discount cards to various tourist sites. Wonderful! We also ran out of phone battery to get our room entry instructions, but only had to read signage and call to get immediate info. on how to access our room. This hotel is not in the center of town although only less than 2 km away. There is also bus service. We had our own vehicle so was not problem and the cost was so much cheaper than staying directly in center of town. There is a Dominoes Pizza right behind the hotel and a grocery store across the street. I love the tradition of requesting guests take off their shoes while in the building. This is apparently true throughout our hotel stays in Iceland.

A nice and clean hostel located a little outside the town. Friendly staff, more than willing to help. Overall a great stay on budget in Akureyri.

We had a good and comfortable night in the hostel. Even we had a late arrival, the hostel staff had everything ready for us when we arrive. The room is very clean, the shared kitchen is also very neat and organized. This is the best hostel we had for our Iceland trip ! B

A lovely, quiet, spacious hostel near the walking path to city center and the water. A spacious kitchen area for eating and food preparation, helpful staff, and clean, comfortable rooms made this a place we will dedinitely visit again!
