The location is very central with a 7/11 less than a minute away and access to main train/subway line. 1hr away from Universal, 1hr away from Nara, 30mins away from Fushimi Inari and similar transit times to other places. Shopping district a walkable distance and Nishiki market about 10mins walk. Hotel itself is calm and clean and well maintained. Staff always available and free coffee/iced coffee at the entrance.

My stay with my family was excellent, very comfortable, clean and very well located near a train station and the market. I would definitely come back

The staff were all polite and helpful. Hotel and rooms were very clean and they also provided customers with daily essentials. Very well organized and considerate of travelers. I definitely recommend it.

The frond desk staff is really what made this property shine for us. We did have some issues like the tv not having an English option or unable to mirror from our phones. Also, some cosmetic issues in one of the rooms. Loved front desk, washer/drywr, excellent water pressure, air in room worked well and was free of any odors. They held our luggage, got us rides, scanned documents for us. This was the absolute best front desk experience of our trip. Staff did also speak a little English.

Very nice hotel in a convenient area in Kyoto. 2 minutes walk from a train station, 10 minutes walk from Nishiki Market. Very pleasant stay.

Loved this place, easily was the best of the 3 hotels I stayed in on my 1st trip to Japan. Spacious room, in a safe and quiet area of Kyoto with good proximity to convenience stores and public transportation. Easy to find on a map, fair nightly price, kind/courteous staff - this place has the works. Looking forward to a future stay at Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sanjo-Karasuma.

We booked two ground floor rooms in the annex building. On the last night we came in and the room smelled awful. Dead rodent or musty water damage? Too late to call and ask for a new room. Both rooms had rug stains, but otherwise clean.

Our room smelt so bad and the bathroom was so stinky. The breakfast buffet was bad too so we didn’t end up having the breakfast even though we had paid for it. I would never stay and it’s definitely not a 3star hotel more like a 1.5star

The breakfast is definately not worth paying for. Its really bad. Much better alternatives elsewhere. Otherwhise hotel is not bad at all.

Wonderful hotel, it's quite walkable area, close to the Nishiki market. I love this hotel and would recommend to family and friends.

Everything could be reached by foot and the subway station is just 5 minutes away. Very good restaurants nearby and conbinis. The staff of the hotel cared about any issue and always cares for their customers.

The hotel and surrounding area is wonderful and very nice. Easy to get around, either walking or via subway or bus. Staff was super helpful.

I “upgraded” to the annex deluxe twin to have more space - but was unimpressed with the room- there was a smell in the room that would not go away (check the plumbing/ p trap as it smells like standing water with dead animal!) the elevators have a musty smell and the carpets have multiple stains I did appreciate the in room washing machine - though it was a little tricky to get working - you can’t really get a quick wash or control the water temp- and there are no irons provided - so be ready to get those clothes out promptly or you’ll be wearing wrinkled clothes Pluses- the in room safe was spacious and convenient to use and the shower Gel/shampoo/conditioner is good quality

Very efficient check-in and location is great with a lot of food options close by. Free coffee at the lobby and nice small onsen. Parking was available and the hotel spotless. Great atopover if on a road trip in Japan. Right in between Tokyo and Kyoto.

I stayed here twice, and I am currently staying here again. The washing machine in the room is convenient and the room is clean. I stayed at other Tokyu Stay and this location is my favorite. The staff is very friendly, and they are happy to help you. I asked one of the staff, where to buy calligraphy brush. He pulled out a map, and he search online for shops around the hotel. He wrote down each shops' name on the map. He pronounced each shops's name for me. Last time when I was here for cherry blossom, and I stayed here. The same staff member helped me, and he pulled out a map. He circled areas for cherry blossom viewing and he wrote down a really good ramen shop. He was so nice and patient answering all my questions. Karasuma Oike station exit 4-1 is about 1-2 minutes walk to the hotel, and there are so many restaurants near by. For shopping departments, you have to walk about 15-20 minutes. Still pretty close by, and there are small boutiques area here. I would stay here again :)

The room was clean, quiet. Security was outstanding. The bed was comfy. Breakfast was delicious. Best part is that the subway station and convinience store was nearby.

Close to metro station, super market. Having a washing machine in the room was really awesome. The room was big and clean, overall very good stay
