The room was spotless and you could tell a lot of thought had been put into it from the lovely selection of toiletries to the extras provided like ear plugs and make up remover towels. The breakfasts were lovely and the hosts were very friendly enquiring about our day and future plans. All in all a lovely stay

A very welcoming and very comfortable place to stay, I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night break. The location is excellent, the breakfast was outstanding and the area itself is lovely. A special thanks to Ruth and Ian for giving me the info on local cycling routes.

Ian and Ruth were very attentive hosts and nothing was too much trouble.
They assisted greatly with parking and other local knowledge.
Comfortable beds and pillows and big soft towels.
A lovely fresh breakfast every morning ~ very professional looking poached eggs :-)

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the host, Ian. The warm hospitality made me feel right at home. Ian and Ruth were incredibly helpful throughout my stay, offering recommendations for things to see and do in Berwick, and always happy to answer any questions I had.
The guest house itself is beautifully maintained. My room was spotless and tastefully decorated, with a comfy bed that guaranteed a good night's sleep. Breakfast was another highlight - a delicious way to start the day.
The location of the Cowrie Guest House is perfect for exploring Berwick. It's within walking distance of all the main attractions, shops, and restaurants. But what truly sets this place apart is the genuine care and attention to detail from Ian and Ruth. They've created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you're staying with friends, not just in a guest house.
Overall, I can't recommend the Cowrie Guest House highly enough. If you're planning a trip to Berwick, this is the place to stay. You won't be disappointed!

Don’t be put off by first impressions of the town! Lovely attentive host who was happy to advise on best places to visit. It was a Good room but a little small. Good breakfast cooked to order and good quality ingredients. Certainly worthy of another stay.

This was a 2 day trip for me. The hosts were quite accommidating. The room was comfortable. And the price was right.

Location a few minutes walk to rail station and bus stops for services to Eyemouth, Seahouse and when tide is out to Holy Island.

We stayed at Cowrie guest House for 3 nights. Ruth and Ian were very welcoming. Our room was lovely and very comfortable, we had everything we needed. The house itself is beautiful and very nicely decorated.
Breakfast was amazing! As well as the usual cooked breakfast there was a special to choose from every day as an alternative. I had scrambled eggs on a croissant one day and french toast with bacon and blueberries on other days. All delicious! We would not hesitate to stay here again if back in Berwick.

The Cowrie Guest House is *the* place to stay if you're visiting Berwick. Ian and Ruth are terrific hosts. They're incredibly friendly and accomodating people. I left early for a hike one morning and they prepared a take away breakfast for me separate from what they normally prepared for breakfast. The house is beautiful, clean, and cozy. It is also easily accessible to the train station and walkable to the rest of Berwick. Ruth also has a business crafting beautiful sea glass jewelry--definitely worth a look. I'll certainly look to be staying with Ian and Ruth the next time I'm in Berwick.

Having travelled by train the location was ideal being only a couple of minutes walk away. Ian and Ruth the owners are very welcoming and provide a wonderful breakfast selection. The room was extremely comfortable and conducive to a good night's sleep after exploring the town and surrounding area.

Absolutely stunning b & b a very short walk from the railway station. A really cosy and extremely comfortable room was much appreciated, and very little exterior noise. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the hosts really welcoming. I really hope we can return one day!

Cowrie was a good stay well run and small things thought out to make the stay even better. Ian and Ruth have good people skills. Will defiantly go back if we stay in the area again.

Owner very friendly and helpful and the facilities are good. Only complaint was some road noise as I was at the front of the house. Decor was clearly thought about and fitted in with the town.

Comfortable one night stay en route to Edinburgh. Friendly welcome from Ian who helped sort out where and when to park. Tip - from 4.30pm you can park outside until 10am the next day, if you can get a space. Otherwise it’s a free car park nearby. Immaculate room - very clean and neat, we were in room 4. In fact the whole house is immaculate. Good nights sleep, the shutters really dampen any noise from the road and the curtains ensure it’s nice and dark. Nice breakfast and a good chat with Ruth who gave us a few suggestions of what to explore in Berwick for the couple of hours we were staying in the morning. All in all a great little guest house.

The owners are really nice and cooked a lovely breakfast. The location is central and fairly quiet despite being on main road (which is not busy). Our room was clean, but a little cramped. I think this is to be expected in B&B in Berwick though, so no complaints.
