The property is not what was advertised. Was told upon arrival don’t try to adjust shower it would fall off if touched. Tried to use washing machine to find out it was broken. Outside area had broken plastic furniture and was dirty. Didn’t want to use any of other appliances for fear that they would be broken also. Air conditioning was very load when running and didn’t stay at a constant temp.

This is a definitely whacky place. More like a highly stylized motel than a hotel. Near a small private airport, so you do hear some planes overhead. It's also in a "neighborhood" and a half a block from the police station so it probably wasn't a good neighborhood at one time. Safe enough now. Place was clean, all the amenities. Bed was comfortable. Perfect for a couple.

Interesting spot. Roomy with full kitchen and laundry. The shower was the best we had on our two-week trip around mid to high-end hotel and bnb stays. With its industrial setting, the lighting was too "cold" for our taste, and it was a bit of a hassle checking in.

Good place for people who like the urban life. No vanity/counter in bathroom, no tv in bedroom. Toilet low flow, bathroom faucet small leak. Very clean & spacious. Full kitchen & fridge. FYI no one other than registered guests allowed on property & no kids.

The actual property is decent and has potential. The check in process is disastrous and needs to be clearly communicated.

Best place in Columbia!!! This was my second time staying at the Hanger Lofts and will always stay here when I visit Columbia.

Very cozy, well decorated and private stay close to the University and entertainment districts. Very peaceful stay with extra touches, like free Starbucks coffee, in the room. Excellent and gracious service from Management. Will definitely come back.

Despite what social media is saying, the property is managed well. The owner Joab was very thorough. The only thing I was a little displeased about was that our two year old was not allowed on the property, but The location my husband and i had was for two people. It was a couple's getaway so once explained as to why, it was ok because i had only reserved it for the two of us anyway. However, he did inform me that he does have properties more suitable for families. Joab was friendly and communicated effectively. There are cameras on the property, but I didn’t feel as if we were being "watched" but maybe thats because we had no intention on breaking the rules or having more guests than we indicated. I did not receive any indication that he was "racist." Great job Joab! My husband and I will be returning.

Every time I am in Columbia for business or personal reasons, I will stay here now! Thanks Joab. Much better than any hotel in the area!

We booked the Hangar Lofts in hopes of finding a unique place to stay. To start it was difficult to find in the dark, there was no sign we could see and we had to call to find the entrance. Upon arriving we were told, by the owner I assume, that the lofts were off limits due to them failing building code and to not touch the shower since they were expensive and they break if you move them. We disregarded this and assumed it would be fine. After "checking in" were were given directions to another location where the actual lofts were. No directions so we had to GPS it to find it. When we arrived at the location there were no exterior lights to see as we had to enter a code in a lock box to get the key. Not sure why we didn't get a key upon checking in. The building looked unique and that was a plus. Once we entered however, its smelled like stale Thai food. Lucky it was only the front room so we could get away from it in the bedroom area. The place was sparsely decorated with some faux modern furniture. Kinda had a warehouse vibe which was fine, but it wasnt done very nicely. The bathroom, which i can only assume was caused by the odd shower, had moldy baseboards around the shower. Also whoever designed the place didnt think that barn doors needed hand holds on the inside to actually close them or open them once inside the bathroom. Just a fail on creating an inviting and fun place. To top it off there was only a single packing blanket as the bed comforter.

I was told we had to leave because we had our son so we didn’t get a refund and I came all the at from Columbus ga for my wife graduation she was exhausted as well and we didn’t receive any buisness or our money back

One of the coolest places I have ever stayed. Clean and friendly staff. Super impressed and had fun. Will return for sure .

The rooms are midcentury industrial design and it was so nice to stay in a hotel room that is not cookie cutter!! We hope to come back again this fall.

Excellent check in experience. Great instructions to get to and access the loft. Loft was well appointed, clean, expansive and comfy. Quiet and dark....sleeping was easy. Loft next door to Columbia police facility so felt very safe. Easy driving distance to downtown Columbia for restaurants.

I loved the Ultra modern decor, high ceilings, painted cement floors means no germs are hiding anywhere. Super clean, fully stocked kitchen including stainless steel cookware which is the best to cook with. Huge TV, comfortable couch and bed. Coffee out on the private patio. Minutes away from brewery, good food, and University. Owner is super accommodating and helpful. 4 thumbs up
