Been twice now this year. Friendly lady who looked after us and really nice hotel not far away from everything. Would recommend to anyone.

Took my partner for what was meant to be a relaxing night away. Paid 114 for a bridal suite but left about 10.30pm and went home stating i would appreciate a full refund as the noise was unbelievably loud leaving us unable to sleep. On checking in we were ahown to a room to be then told may not be the correct one. After taking our things back to the car we was called 30 mins later saying it was in fact the right room. A complete nightmare from start to finish...although staff were friendly!

Lovely hotel with lovely staff. Extremely comfortable bed, had the best night sleep in years. Seafront, a few minutes walk away . Would definitely stay again

I made this reservation in December of 2023. My family and I flew from the US (first time abroad for us all) and were three hours away from checking in when we were told our reservation was cancelled. I can’t begin to describe the disappointment and frustration.

The OYO Pier Hotel is a lovely little hotel right next to the sea front
The staff we interacted with were very friendly, pleasant, helpful and professional,
The room was amazing very high spec and uniquely individually name, very clean and well looked after
the only down side for me is it was advertised as parking available, something I always look for, but in fact there is only parking for 2 cars so I doubt any guest really get to use them, so I had to park around the corner in a public car park at my expense, also I could not see my car from the hotel and was very nervous about leaving my car there - also it was advertised as hairdryers are supplied with each room, but there was not one, much to my Wife's dismay, plus the area is very noisy for most of the night as local night clubs do not turn out until after 2am, if these three things do not concern you then this is a lovely hotel and highly recommended, although for me I will not stay there again because of car parking.

Property ws exactly as we expected for a one night stay. It was clean & comfortable, staff friendly & helpful.

We booked the hotel for one night. The lady who welcomed us was very nice and showed us to our room's. The room was clean. It had a shower/toilet. Tea , coffee and TV. It was adequate for our stay. Parking is a bit hit and miss. A little bit of noise from the bar's across the road. All in all, it was okay.

My stay was good and the staff extremely accommodating. However, a storm front came through during my stay and being on the sea front. It was so loud in my room it felt like I was in a tent for most of the night. In the morning there where downed fences and significant storm debris on the beach. It may not seem a fair review as there's not much the owners can do about the weather but it significantly detracted from my stay and I left a night early due to the projected weather for the following night.

Pretty run down. Nice enough staff. Small room , really poor shower.
Parties in other rooms, all night noise, no help from reception meant this was a very difficult stay.

We had the bridal suite which was very clean and very comfortable . The only thing missing for us was there wasn't a set of draws or wardrobe.but other than that couldn't be more happy with it

Had a wonderful stay at OYO Pier Hotel. Had a superior double room which was lovely - beautiful decor, huge bathroom and a balcony space. Bed was so comfortable. Location was absolutely perfect. Will return again soon.

I want to give this hotel a really good review because we had a lovely room with ensuite bathroom, the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean clean clean. We were even given a fan without having to ask. The owner/manager is a very sweet lady too.
However, the karaoke bar opposite the hotel is an abomination. It is noisy and karaoke is so bad it makes you think you are in hell.
Again, I cannot give a bad review of the hotel on the basis of something that the hotelier has no control over. If I were to go and stay there, I'd ask for a room overlooking the back of the hotel.

Lovely hotel and perfect location.. very modern and clean with a well presented and well stocked bar area. Paid for breakfast andavery reasonable £5.00 per person that the food by far surpased the price. Will go out my way to stay there again on next trip to clacton.

There was no Reception, so checking in was confusing to say the least. Checking out was even worse as there was no one to pass my key to and no key drop. It seems to be a place that is set up to cram as many in as possible during the summer months to make money, nothing else really. The room was small, but adequate as was the bathroom.

Unfortunately our room (with my six old son) was situated at the front of the hotel, there was a nightclub called 5th avenue over the road that had its door open all night and played loud music till 2am ... it was a nightmare .... also had to pay for breakfast

had a nice stay. place was recently refurbished so everything looked clean and tidy.

Becky and her son were so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The bar area is lovely and the room was great - everything smells fresh.
The location to the beach and restaurants is brilliant. We even managed to have one of the two parking spaces which was great.
Only downside was the room was so very hot but it was a very hot day and Becky did find us a fan.
Would definitely stay again.

Room was very small for a double - had water coming through the ceiling and when I complained the owner got very aggressive. Eventually agreed a refund then advised that I could and I needed to go through hotel.com - that was over 2 weeks ago and it’s still not sorted. Receptionist was very nice trying to help.

This is stated as a hotel but it's more like a B and B with rooms squeezed in, well ours was tiny, more for a single.

Thank you for a great stay at your hotel. The room was comfortable. It had tea and coffee making facilities. It is in a great location right next to the seafront which is what we wanted.
Staff were always polite and happy. If possible the mermaid room needed a bit of a repair as the towel rack was a bit wobbly and the blind cord was delicate to move. I really liked the decor and you can tell they really care about their hotel. A really lovely stay and I would definitely stay here again. Thank you :)
