We have just got back The Haven - York. The location of the house is fantastic, just a short walk into York, not much parking but the train station isn't too far away. The Haven states it sleeps 8-10 people, which i have to disagree with. It would be a very tight squeeze for 10 people, i presume the pullout bed in the double room is where you would put the 2 other people but you just couldn't fit two people on there. I think from the pictures online it looks very nice and the aesthetics look great however, once there, the house could do with a deep clean. It was service level clean. All skirting boards were dusty, mirrors needed a good clean, radiators had dust hanging from them. In general the house needs a freshen up with paint, radiators changing, beds properly cleaned (headboards) etc. The house has a large bathroom, which doesn't have a shower, this is urgently needed if the house is stating it sleeps 8-10 people. One shower on the top floor for this amount of people is not suffice. The kitchen is great, fresh, clean but lacking knives and forks. We actually had to go and buy some more as we didn't have enough. Outdoor courtyard is great, small bar and hot tub, great for hosting but again, the hot tub could do with a clean. When we used it, the water was very foamy. Having a hot tub myself i know that this means the water needs changing, cleaning and chemicals adding.

We have recently stayed in the haven site. The house is modern and staged beautifully. When booking it was easy to get in touch with the hosts with any queries and questions. The information provided after booking was specific and easy to follow. There is a carpark close if you are taking more than one car which is either pay by card or app when parking. To the town was a short distance and a really nice picturesque walk. I would definitely visit again.

Beautiful house, beds comfy

Had a lovely weekend in this property and the hot tub was an added bonus. Walking into town was a nice walk and not far. Beds were really comfy and the house had everything we needed. Hosts were very responsive with the few questions we had. Would highly recommend
