Breakfast was very nice and plenty of it Both were very friendly and polite, Rooms were very clean and our hosts went of there way to make sure a stay was happy time for us. This was definitely a 10 out of 10 for us

Room 9 has a wonderful view over the bay. Everything was spotless. The owners were very friendly. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. Plenty of lights in the room (often not the case in hotels) and three chairs (again, often chairs are rather lacking in other establishments). Parking is available.

Water pressure in the shower wasn’t great, perhaps because we were on the top floor. The en-suite was on the small side. But these aren’t major issues.

Amanda and Dave were incredible hosts. You can tell they really care about the guests and the guest experience. We were even given a lovely Easter surprise! I will definitely be back.

Breakfast was varied and always excellent. Although room was on the top floor, we had a perfect view over the bay. I'm sure this would not have been achieved on a lower floor. An ideal base to visit local attractions.

Could not find fault with anything. Any slight negative was outweighed by a positive. Room at front with traffic at peak times, view of sea front and bay just perfect.

Breakfast was cooked exactly how I requested it and there was plenty of choice and plenty of everything. Service was 10/10 and we did not have to wait for more tea or coffee etc as they were refilled quickly. Mandy and Malcolm were exceptional hosts and put you at ease immediately! A really lovely couple!

Everything from the parking early to leaving was exceptional I can not thank you all and the other guest's for the welcome we had differently be staying in September and the breakfast stunning

Another exceptional stay at the Briars. Lovely room with fantastic views. Full English breakfast cooked fresh and a different light option to choose from everyday, plus continental selection as well. Owners Malcolm and Mandy fantastic hosts!!

The breakfast was superb - there was a special on every day in addition to the normal types of breakfast. Every course was served to our table. We found the personal attention was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was perfectly situated between the harbour and the esplanade. Malcolm & Mandy were perfect hosts and I would recommend The Briars for a perfect holiday.

The property was very central

The property was perfectly placed just off the seafront, the room was clean and comfortable with a sea view. Lovely, plentiful breakfast. The owners Mandy & Malcolm were both lovely, very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would return and definitely recommend to our friends.

The breakfasts were amazing, excellently cooked by Mandy and brilliantly served by Malcom. Mandy and Malcom were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfy and very clean with plenty of tea/coffee and especially milk (which we never seem to get enough of) The situation of this B & B is brilliant for exploring and definitely make use of the stagecoach bus service.

We did not like Paignton and the weather was awful but this was certainly not the hosts fault. Bathroom was a tad small but adequate.
