Good solid hotel conveniently located in the old part of the city. Walking distance for shopping, restaurants and sites. They have museums passes, no charge. Great friendly staff that are extremely helpful. The rooms are clean and in good repair.

Outside of my room was noisier than Oxford Circus, drunk people fighting and shouting until 2 AM requiring three separate phone calls to reception. I got zero sleep. I honestly have never stayed in a hotel with such continuous and unreasonable noise for so long, leaving me exhausted the next day.

The staff at the hotel were so helpful and friendly. They offered so many services such as stamps, umbrellas and wifi boxes. Breakfast was great with real scrambled eggs and bacon. The rooms were immaculate.

Excellent and helpful staff. Mr. Marc helped us with a few sightseeing plans and informed us about the local transportation ( trams ). The visit to zurich was successful due to this. Nice coffee machine in the lobby. Good breakfast. The room size is a bit smaller than other places, but it did not matter much. We are happy that we stayed there.

Hotel is in a good location close to the main train station and river. Decent breakfast. Lots of restaurants and shopping right outside the hotel. I arrived early and was able to check in right away which was very nice. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Room is fairly small but suitable for sleeping. Bed was fairly comfortable. Room was clean however there was a strange clicking sound coming from the wall in my room which was annoying and quite concerning. After travelling all night I just wanted to sleep so I didn't see if there was another room available. When booking with Expedia, this is a VIP hotel. I did not receive any of the VIP benefits (ex. free room upgrade).

Receptionists were very welcoming and helpful. The facility was modern yet cozy and clean. The only con was it can get pretty noisy at night since it’s close to many restaurants and bars. I think it was a perfect stay as it was also close to the Zürich Airport.

Room was upgraded for free before I got there. Staff was beyond helpful and did everything they could that I asked of them. Lots and lots of restaurants and shopping in the area. Its a busy neighborhood, but safe. I'd stay again

We stayed here for the location as it was walkable to old town, Zurich HB, and many other points of interest. So for location, it was great. For sleep on the other hand, choose somewhere else. We seriously underestimated the noise that we would hear in the room until 2am and then starting around 7:30am we’d hear noise from workers in the street. They gave us earplugs but the only way to reduce it is to close the window and then the room got really hot and stuffy (even in October when we stayed it was hot with the window closed). Staff was friendly, lobby had coffee/water fill station, and breakfast was fine as well. All in all, if we had gotten better sleep, it would have been an awesome stay.. but if street noise would bother you at night, be mindful of the bars open right around it.

Hotel Alexander is in the center of restaurant rows, close to the train station and shopping that makes it very convenient for guests. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay again here on our next visit to Zurich.

Other than the wonderful man who helped us carry our bags 2 blocks when our driver couldn't find the hotel🤔...reception frosty by Laura, ugly room w a view of garage ( we refused it and moved to a corner room w at least a peak of street/to very. No help w bags, no extras, loved the walking location to let cal cafes, etc which is why we chose it
Ok brkfst buffet but to be fair tail end of a fab Tauck Tour 12 days lthru Switzerland at great properties we were let down for our final 2 nites on our own before flying back to Boston. ( had spent 3 days on Geneva on own before ...would return for more time in this beautiful country but not a great last few days, alas)...and we are friendly, seasoned travelers.
Did get friendly smiles from other employees, btw. Gorgeous 2 weeks in Switzerland overall

Excellent location, walk to main train station and dozens of restaurants and cafes next to hotel. Room was small Europeans style, very comfortable and quiet. Excellent breakfast options included, eggs, bacon, sausages, breads, cheeses, meats, yoghurt etc. Front desk staff Katrina was super helpful and friendly. Hotel had plug converters for free to use to charge phones, and also free wifi hot spots to take when out in the city.

Excellent communication and service. Everything worked well with the parking. The room was very small, which was expected. The aircon was quite weak. Breakfast was very good. Excellent location and good insulation from noise. I do recommend Hotel Alexander.
