Staff was nice at check in & check out. Room was absolutely filthy, some sort of black spots on the sheets, bathroom had mold all around the sides of the shower, and dirt, lots of long hair stuck in corners of the bathroom along with a mold smell throughout the room. We travel frequently and realize alot of people pass through hotels and the upkeep can be quite the chore but this was definitely in the top 3 dirtiest rooms ive ever had.

Front desk staff awesome and knowledgeable. Easy access to freeway. Rooms comfortable and clean. Beds super comfy. Next time I would request a river view room with views of the river and state capitol at night. We really enjoyed our stay here! My only suggestions would be to heat the pool and up the quality of hot water in rooms…took awhile to heat up.

I had an amazing view of the river. The room was big, the bed was great. I just felt like this big property has been ignored. It need a facelift!!! Clean carpet, paint in hallways, tile. I mean the basics are just bad. The lemon water was great and refreshing. The breakfast presentation and cleanliness was perfect!! The staff was nice. The parking lot was clean and lit well.

Only downside is that the building is older and could use some renovating. It is clean, the staff was very friendly, good food within walking distance, picturesque view along the river.

Overall the hotel was a good choice. We brought our dogs and the fee for them was nominal. The room was comfortable and we had a choice of several restaurants (some that allowed the pooches) within walking distance👍. We also appreciated that it was close to the venue we were visiting. It definitely worked for us!

My flight into Des Moines was delayed. I contacted the hotel to let them know. I didn't get to the hotel until 3:30 in the morning. The lady that was working had checked me in when i called earlier, so i was able to go straight up to my room when i got there. She even offered me a late check out, however, i had to leave first thing the next morning. Customer service was above and beyond wonderful. I had breakfast which was delicious. Im sorry that i can't remember the name of the lady that checked me in, or the name of the last that takes care of the breakfast. But they are the reason that i would stay here again!

The property was not worth what we paid for it at all. For that money I could have stayed in a luxury sweet in New York City. Not worth it.

The room was very clean. Hotel was nice. No disappointment there. The down side was the drinks for the continental breakfast. The orange juice and coffee were watered down to where there was no taste to either drink. The OJ looked like pineapple juice and the coffee was brown water

The hotel overlooked the Des Moines River and the State Capitol making the views at night stunning. There was a little road noise at night but that is expected staying downtown. Had a great time visiting Des Moines.

We stay in Des Moines a few times a year and always choose the Comfort inn. It's close to downtown, the events center, and a bunch of other stuff. The rooms are always clean and the staff is great. The breakfast is also really good!

My husband had mobility issues and it was such an easy walk to Wells Fargo. Breakfast was very nice. Would definitely would stay again!

There was what looked like mold on the air conditioner. Bathtub dirty.

Great location for attending events at Wells Fargo Arena. Super easy parking and entry back to 235. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Seamless simple and friendly parking and check-in. Got here early for Barry Manilow Concert. Most guests here for the same things. Room and bathroom were immaculate. Mild stale/hot smell that subsided. Fantastic location, good breakfast. $ a bit high but made Concert so convenient.

Stayed because it’s directly across the road from the skate park and only a 15 minute walk from good food and good bars. Will be staying here again in the future.

We had a river front view and it was stunning. We could also see the Capitol in the distance. We took a walk and it was stunning! The property itself was what you would expect from a Comfort Inn and Suites. Pretty basic, but clean and in relatively good condition.

Breakfast was fantastic. Front desk people were very friendly and helpful. Only complaints, water in the pool was cold and refrigerator was noisy at night.
