We returned for our 30th wedding anniversary with our baby granddaughter after spending our honeymoon at the same hotel. From staff to whole ambience we love this place. No not if you want all singing all dancing contemporary facilities and surroundings but for location and everyone we encountered within the hotel from reception to housekeeping and restaurant staff you can’t beat it. Fabulous time and memories.

Very friendly and nice staff. We booked last minute and they made it work out well! Amazing breakfast! Lake Geneva is right there, with great options for dinner. We walked to Cathey Chillon and took the train back. Beautiful place. Great and clean room.

A grand hotel in old fashion style. A bit worn down here and there, and certainly the bathrooms could use renovation. But otherwise a very nice stay in and charming old-chique environment.

Hadn’t been back to Montreux in 32 years and wanted to stay at Hotel Eden au Lac again. Paid to upgrade to a lake view and it was spectacular!

Very friendly staff and was right on the water. We walked down to jump in the lane after they directed us where to go, so amazing. Room felt secure once you noticed that you need to engage the door latch on the inside when you are occupying the room. The balcony was so cute and the views are superb.

We booked a Family Room to have some extra space but we were allocated a Standard Room at check-in. It took much insistence that we didn't want to be downgraded (unless we were offered a discount) and the hassle of being assigned a second Standard Room before the receptionist begrudgingly offered us a Deluxe Room instead. The Deluxe Room was very nice, but a lot of time and energy was spent going back and forth to rooms and the reception desk to get it sorted. We picked the hotel as it was a short walk away from the Montreux Jazz Festival which would be running during our visit. We wanted to be away from the noise and chaos of the festival but still have good access and the hotel is ideally located from this perspective. However, the Casino next door was holding an all-day pool party on the day of our arrival and had loud music blaring all day (sadly not jazz!). It was impossible to relax by the hotel pool, enjoy lunch on the terrace or relax in our room due to the excessive noise. Whilst clearly not the hotel's fault, it was a scheduled event and we should have been pre-warned about this before our stay as it severely impacted our enjoyment. Service was so-so. Some of the staff were OK, others clearly not suited for customer service roles. Check-out wasn't much better, we were charged for Tourist Tax despite having paid it on arrival, luckily we still had the receipt. Again, was resolved but it took work to achieve.

We check in and noticed 1 room had broken AC. Went to lobby to request change and manager thought he was doing me favor in providing fans!! We did not pay almost $500 per room per night to have fans when they are advertising as they are a 5 star hotel and AC has been broken for days!! Guest were complaining for this issue at front desk and they were just giving excuse that AC broke the day before. BULLsh….!Breakfast was nasty, not even my kids could eat. The only good thing about stay was view from room. NEVER AGAIN!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

This is an older facility in a prime location. You can tell that the current owners are trying to bring it back to some of the grandeur that it had in the past. It has character, location and is a comfortable place to stay. Would recommend it. Best views around.

Gorgeous hotel in beautiful Montreux with the most amazing in-room view I have ever had. The views were so incredible, we ended up cancelling our plans for the afternoon and lunched on the veranda. Absolutely incredible experience.

Hotel is at a great location. Nice condition and lake facing rooms are better experience than the strrrt facing rooms. The biggest turn off was the rudeness of the staff.

The best thing was the amazing receptionist that allowed us to change rooms for an upper room, with the most magnificent view in the world. Yes, the hotel is old, yes the furnishings are a little dated…but the view is worth any misgivings
