Very nice property in the outskirts of Amboise. You´ll need a car or taxi to get to the center, but we had a car, so it was very convenient, just 10´ away from city center. Nice, clean, big rooms, nice reception staff ready to help.

This was a great stay during our visit to the Loire valley. Very clean, the staff was super attentive and accommodating, the buffet breakfast was excellent, very satisfied!

The Novotel is good. Very helpful staffs.

Many good points but they were subsumed by my wife having the worst steak that she ever has had in her life.Virtually inedible and tough whereas my pork filet was really good.

We stayed one night as part of a longer road trip. It was quite convenient for our needs, and the staff was friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet was okay but a little picked over by the time we ate at 7:30 am as there was a tour group or two staying at the hotel as well.

On arrival after 7 hours in the car, hugely disappointed to be told by reception (very cheerily) that the restaurant was fully booked and there was no room service. No food anywhere, even at the bar. Luckily I had a bag of crisps in the car which I managed to turn into dinner. Reception could have mentioned eg ubereats or some other options (and I should have asked). Staff at the bar were responsive despite being very overworked. Huge gash in the desk in the room, wasn’t expecting that! Room was ok although the a/c hardly functioned. They say they have a/c but I wouldn’t agree. Swimming pool nice but crowded and small. If I had realised how isolated this hotel is, I would have gone elsewhere.

For the last 2 nights I was at Novotel Amboise - and regretted choosing it. The restaurant was closed, my room faced directly onto the pool and the outdoor dining area, so no sleep before midnight. The bed was comfortable but that was about it. I had booked into the Orleans Novotel but they messaged me that they were under renovation - so the carpark, the bar, the swimming pool, the restaurant were all closed. Not sure what was left open, so moved to the other Novotel in Orleans South, miles from anywhere. A mistake - the rooms are small and dark, the place is full of noisy families - right now 4 children are using the corridor outside my room as a racetrack while the parents look on benignly and wont do anything about it. The restaurant was full of squalling children. I have cut my stay and am moving somewhere else. Avoid at all costs.

Staff was very helpful in arranging local Covid appointments.

Nice hotel. Typical room lay out for Novotel. Restaurant was poor with a very limited menu that did not change daily. Tv should include international channels and the smart tv should connect really. Hotel is overpriced for what it is.

Located close to tourist attractions make this hotel the perfect choice .

Great hotel with a lovely pool (which was why we chose this place due to the hot weather) and some basic facilities for the kids (crazy golf and a couple of run down tennis courts). Only drawback is we also chose this place as it has aircon but it didn’t really work. Rooms were still around 24 degrees with aircon on!

Very comfortable and clean compared to some of the places we stayed on our trip. Unlike the B&B's, everyone in our family got an actual bed instead of some pull out mattress pad and we were able to relax instead of trying to uphold some expectations of a host.

Good 'stop-off' point in a nice town with plenty of restaurants etc.

This property exceeded our expectations for a moderately priced hotel. Lovely pool, was a welcome respite from the hot day of touring.

We had requested a family room and it was really cramped and we were on top of each other. The air conditioning was really poor. The young guy who was working the bar had very poor customer service skills. Lunch however was good.

Nice and comfortable room with reasonable price but a little far from the city

I found a woman hair while having my breakfast, the shower took 10 mns before having tepid water and the flow of it was really not strong

We arrived late, and although they probably wanted to go home, they served us a world-class meal in the restaurant and never made us feel that we were putting them out. Thank you!

When out exploring the Loire Valley chateaux his is an excellent hotel to stay in. Plenty of parking and the facilities were excellent. Located outside the busy town, but an easy 1km walk into the main sites.

Staff was amazing! We had a great stay and will definitely be returning in the spring. Just as described hotel and beautiful view of Amboise.

Good location easy access to town close to main roads. Great for stop on route.

The hotel was pleasant enough, and the room was clean and a decent size. The view was disappointing, of the carpark, however the rear of the hotel had lovely views of the countryside, castles and hot air balloons. The reception staff were polite and helpful, however the barman was appalling! We went to the bar to order 2 bottles of beer. He was busy with another order, which was fine. However he did not acknowledge us for 5 minutes, when he finally did he spoke in very fast french so I have no idea what he said. Then we waited about 15 more minutes for him to finish the drinks order he was on and he asked us what we would like to drink. I ordered our drinks but then had to show him what I wanted on the menu as he seemed very unknowledgeable about the drinks the hotel was selling. Then he got one bottle out, then disappeared into the kitchen and got a bunch of mint out and starting cutting some lemons and limes (not for our drinks). Then he seemed to remember we were there and gave us one unopened beer and one glass, then asked us if we were drinking on the terrace or in the bar. We decided on the terrace, selecting the only table that wasnt piled high in empty dirty glasses. He then took another 10 minutes to bring out the beers. My partner then had to return my glass which was filthy. There was a lot of children running around so maybe this hotel is more suitable for families. The shower was a bit naff, but I was impressed with the complimentary bathroom toiletry set.

Good base to explore chateaux in the Loire valley if you came by car, the hotel is 5 min drive from Clos Luce (but not a walking distance). Excellent price - quality ratio. Rooms have flatscreen TV, very comfortable double beds with thick mattresses and expandable sofas (for kids or adults). Swimming pool and mini golf outside. Free parking. There is some family entertainment in the hotel, incl. Xbox and billiard table. Restaurant offers tasty food and good choice of breakfast. Rooms are simple but have everything a traveler needs for a stay over. Recommend to families with kids looking for reasonably priced accommodation in Loire valley.

Oh dear. How did this hotel get so many positive write-ups? Have they been gaming the review pages? The accor hotel group are good for cheap motorway stop-overs on the way through France, eg the Ibis Buget and Formula One chains. We have stayed in these many times before but this was our first experience in their posher "four star" Novotel chain. In truth the room was very similar to a budget Ibis, cheap and anonymous, with woodchip walls and a vague whiff of cleaning fluid everywhere. On our first night we ordered quite an expensive meal as room service which arrived with chips burnt to a cinder but stone cold. When I pointed this out to the guy who delivered them he shrugged as if already aware of the fact, and took them away without apology. This, we were to discover, was typical of the attitude of most of the staff (especially the more senior members) who seemed to have completely given up on any semblance of caring. Front desk staff were breathtakingly rude, treating simple, polite enquiries with churlishness, contempt and occasionally a blatant refusal to answer. Really weird. The buffet breakfast had a good range of stuff, though the eggs and bacon ran out early and the coffee came out of a vending style machine and was poor. On the plus side, the pool and gardens were well tended and attractive.The mini golf range, though crumbling away and costing 4 euros a game, was also fun. Next time we'll stick to Ibis budget, I think.

Pleasant experience, although pre booking says tax paid but they add more on. Someone is on a swindle.
