Very Old Hotel but location is good. When you enter, You can smell Old carpet. Rooms are very small. So, I wont recommend to stay here

Great location. Clean. The only complain was no A/C - so the evening sleep was not as comfortable. They did have a fan which helped.

**Terrible Experience – Unreasonable Cancellation Policy, Tiny, Noisy, and Uncomfortable Rooms** I recently booked a 4-day stay at Hotel Markus Sittikus in Salzburg, and due to unforeseen circumstances, I needed to cancel 2 of those days. Despite giving them ample notice and explaining the situation, the hotel refused to make any arrangements or adjustments for the cancellation. Their rigid and inflexible policy showed zero concern for customer service or satisfaction. To make matters worse, the room itself was incredibly disappointing. It was as small as a cramped student dorm room, with barely enough space to move around. The TV set was outdated and practically unusable, making it impossible to relax and unwind after a long day. The bed was shockingly small and uncomfortable, which made for a terrible night's sleep. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the room was also super noisy. Every morning from 5 am to 6 am, a garbage truck would park right under my window, filling the room with loud noises and an awful smell. It was impossible to get any rest with this daily disruption. It's incredibly frustrating that they would rather take my money than accommodate a reasonable request. This lack of understanding and unwillingness to work with guests, combined with the subpar room quality and constant noise, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I will never stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values fair treatment, comfort, or decent customer service.

Pros: Great location to exploring the city and very friendly staff. Cons: No A/C, and a broken window in one of our rooms so couldn't even let air in. Uncomfortable beds, industrial carpet everywhere (the hallways, rooms and entry were decorated very cheaply, but the "library", "honesty bar" and courtyard were very old world and lovely) and extra charges for everything. Every other hotel we stayed at provided water, beer, coffee and more, but this one charged extra for it all. Not a terrible experience, but definitely would choose somewhere else next time.

Such friendly staff! The hotel had many amenities like a lounge and an honesty bar. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had anywhere in the world! Everything was served and prepared with such care - we felt very taken care of here. Air conditioning would be good. We had the window open, but the dump truck woke us up early with the noise and smell. Only a minor inconvenience though!

Great location. Secure parking a very short walk from hotel. I liked the staff, property and city. The part of Salzburg on the hotel’s side of the river can be really lively. Old town is a little pretentious and touristy.

although there is no air conditioning each room is ptobided with a fan which is great. However, it would be better to have had an oscillating fan

Nice and quiet hotel with walkable distances to old town and the must see attractions. Only conside is that the room didn’t have air conditioning and it got rather hot during the night. Staff was really nice and hospitable! Really big thanks for them.

Had a great stay.

Great location. 15 minutes by foot to downtown. New rooms and bathrooms. Perfect beds, clean, VERY NICE owners/staff. All good. With an AC it would be 4 Star for us.

That was a cute small hotel room, the only thing I didn’t like is if you’re tall you don’t have a lot of place in the bathroom when you are on the toilette, my knees we’re pressed against the wall.

The property is located within walking distance of the main train station so plenty of access to transportation choices. It is also close to many tour operators.

Very nice staff and well located hotel

Hotel was very cosy and clean. We choose this hotel because was close to the train station and also to the city centre . Service was very attentive and friendly. Room was basic for a 4 star and they didn’t clean the room in the morning, but price /quality ratio was great. 22€ for a breakfast is a bit expensive but I will recommend this hotel to anyone

Staff were helpful and friendly, easy walking distance to the old town and attractions.

We loved our stay here. The staff were really friendly and rooms comfortable. We especially appreciated the very comfortable lounge and bar area which felt cosy and personal. The location was good too, just a 10 min walk to the river and the old town, and with the Mirabel Palace just round the corner.

The room was a decent size and super comfortable. The staff spoke English and was very helpful and patient in answering all my questions.

Nice hotel with nice breakfast

The room is so small and the facility is limited: no fridge, no water cups in the room. There was even no shampoo or shower gel in the shower room on the day we arrived. We complained next morning as no staff on property in the night and they replaced the shower gel/shampoo. It was the worst hotel we had in our whole trip. I would like to say that hotel could be ranked as three stars with maximum.

The hotel is quiet and the room was clean and quite roomy for an old European hotel. There are steps from the street into the hotel and it is a little dated. Staff is not there through the night, but helpful with our questions during the day. Very nice garden, social rooms and an honor bar on the first floor. Overall, we would stay again.

Close to the Mirabelle gardens/palace but a fair ways away from the old town. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was overpriced for what it is (€24 per person). Room was clean and had a balcony. Placement of shower and toilet were awkward.

Walkable from the Salzburg train station and nearby tourist sites.

Not the most recently updated but cozy which they complement with vinyl and a turn table at the bar. Good place to retreat after a days outings and conveniently located
