The staff are super nice, but this hotel just isn't it. I checked in to a room, where the bathroom was not cleaned (at least it was visibly not, so not sure about the rest). There was paper on the bathroom floor under the sink cabinet, dirt on the towels within this sink cabinet, the sink cabinet in itself had seemingly unclean marks on it, no shower gel left in the shower, and there was hair (yes, someone elses) in the shower. I provided staff pictures as proof and they gave me a gift card for 2x supplimentary drinks in the hotel bar, along with some cookies. None of which I took the courtesy of using (yes, I know that this is not their problem). Also, if you are sensitive to noise, I would not recommend booking a room with a harbour view. I had a room on the 2nd floor with a window to the harbour and I could hear noise from activities on the pier, music, etc. even though staff claimed the windows were double sealed. The hotel does not offer ear plugs. Finally, the hotel has no outside space whatsoever, which just makes it cramped. Considering its location, it is a shame that it does not offer any type of outside space for enjoyment. For the same reason, I would recommend making a booking, if any, without breakfast (although their breakfast is nice), allowing yourself to enjoy it somewhere nice outside close to the old port.

Close to the port & many restaurants & bars. Reasonably quite room & very quiet when the windows closed at night. Reception staff excellent, bar staff may need more training (unsure of some basic cocktails). Basin hand soap dispenser empty & not replaced for complete stay (4 days). Would recommend overall.

It wasn’t the property’s fault that the streets outside were blocked off and urine soaked.
While our suite had an AMAZING view out of both sides, the curtains smelled really bad, especially in the bedroom. They need a good laundering.
Went to the bar for ice and the bartender was a jerk.
Breakfast was really good but like most things in Marseilles WAY over priced.

Perfect location to enjoy the old port of Marseille. It is an older hotel but the two balconies and amazing views were great. Room has all the features you need. Given the price I would highly recommend.

We were in Marseilles for a day, on the way to Paris and to finish our French Riviera trip. Marseilles was our least favorite city on this tour. We knew the area would be crowded and busy, and had low expectations. With that said, the hotel is well situated and convenient with a nice view of the port. The fridge had free drinks. However, the property is very dated. I do not feel that anyone cleaned our room as the bathtub had some concerning "stains" on it. The soap on the sink appeared to be already used. The property seemed under-staffed. In fact, when we checked in, our taxi driver loaded up all the luggage on the bell cart and the front desk did not help at all in this. Overall, for the price that I paid which is rather high, this was certainly not worth it at all.

We were in the king suite. The Chopin Room is very dated and they moved us to the other suite. Great view from the balcony. Rooms need updating. Staff is very helpful. I don’t feel the hotel is worth the price

I loved this hotel! The staff was so warm, friendly and helpful. Location is beyond perfect! My room was a bit dark, but nothing you can do about that; the location was not sunny and I looked down on dingy and dark objects. But overall, I loved my stay! It is perfect location for my first time in Marseille and to meet the needs of what I had to do for my job.

Centrally located and walkable. Hotel does not have its own parking but parking garages within a 5 minute walk. Found self laundry also within 5 minutes walk. Plenty of cafes, restaurants …

The design of the bathroom was fabulous, but there wasn't quite enough thought as to where to put the soap dispensers: they were are shower height, but if you decided to take a bath there was no way you could reach them!
The bar and breakfast areas were lovely and the service was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful get-away!

Great location. Quite crowded area. Parking close by, but still troublesome to access with all the one-way streets, construction and heavy traffic. Very nice room.

We loved the hotel. The staff was very helpful. They provided alternative bedding when we found the comforter too warm. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom especially well set up and equipped. Everything was very well kept and clean. The breakfast was wonderful and the bar lovely. The location is perfect.

A great place to stay the view over the old port is stunning. It is worth getting a port view room. A highlight was the excellent breakfast where the ladies on duty went out of their way to look after you.

The hotel was located right in the centre of the action. It was walking distance to everything around. Room was clean and spacious. Loved the design finishings. One negative thing I can say, is that our toilet flash button was broken so it at times continued to flush and we had to play around with it to stop.

Our stay was first-rate all around. Situated right in the heart of the older part of the city, it offered easy access to all of the local sights. Staff was helpful with fabulous restaurant recommendations and reservations. When we encountered a travel glitch (flight cancellation) right before our planned departure, staff was accommodating. Fabulous overall!

Great location - we were near everything. I would go back again, but would definitely splurge and book a room with a view of the water (the alternative is a window overlooking a brick wall).

Unlike other rooms we have had in France the room we had was very large, 20' X 15''.
Check in staff were were helpful in getting us into the room and when asked about attractions near by were very helpful. if inthe area again would definately stay here.

No reason i should payfor a suite that has the carpet of a poorly maintained fraternity house. Honestly the carpet looked like it had been soaked in beer and not just once.
Concierge recommended a restaurant for seafood that was the worst dining experience of my life and at 72 there have been many.

The Grand Hotel Beauvau at Vieux-Port is fabulous! We could not be happier with the friendly and professional service we experienced with all staff members, the beautiful accommodations, the fantastic breakfast, and the view! Yes, the view! We requested a room with a view of the port, and it turns out this 200+ year old, well maintained hotel is in the center of everything. We were in close proximity to countless amazing outdoor cafes, beautiful historic sights, and lots of activity (musicians, acrobats, easy access to transportation). We remember most fondly an excellent bartender in the hotel bar, the amazing view from our room, how quiet our room was when we closed our windows to shut out the activity from the port, and the wonderful spread of local products for breakfast.

A great place to stay at the heart of the old port. Worth paying extra for a window view of all of the activity around the port. Service was excellent throughout, will definitely stay here again when I'm next in the city
