We had a lovely stay at the hotel in York unfortunately one of our party left something behind in the bedroom , it was a present from Lush for her granddaughter and the hotel have been less than helpful in trying to get the items back to her .

Everything staff, room, friendly.
The only thing that spoilt is me & my sister had a meal and it was appalling… it was cold and definitely not worth the money.. the manager did apologise & offered us free desserts or drinks. Breakfast was good.

We stayed for 2 nights to have a celebratory visit to York. The hotel is very well located being convenient for the city and local areas of interest.

OK stay for one night nice breakfast staff check in took too long. my luggage got stuck in luggage store on check out and it took 30 minutes to get it out which delayed my departure. Hotel paid for a taxi for me though which was nice.

It’s a great place to stay, that conveniently close to important touristy places and restaurants and that uncommonly includes a fairly good breakfast. Only thing to improve is an weird humidity smell in the hallways to our bedroom. I still would totally recommend.

Great hotel for solo traveling that suited my needs. It was conveniently located close to city centre, and the room was comfortable.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. It was close to the town center and the wall. The rooms are a bit small and the bed is a full size so not very comfortable for couples sleeping together. The staff was awesome!

Pretty average. Overpriced due to there being university open days that weekend. There was no draught beer in the bar as they had run out.

Expensive to say no breakfast included and no parking on site. Staff are helpful. Room very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was ok but not value for money. Good location for city centre, Clifford’s Tower, Jorvik and the Barbican.

Great hotel, friendly staff and good location from the city centre. Just wish the sofa bed mattress was thicker as it was not very comfortable to sleep on.

Room was clean and comfortable, staff was very friendly. The lounge area was a cozy environment. We spent some time having snacks and playing scrabble down there when it was raining one evening. Food at breakfast was delicious. Great location and easy walk to the Shambles.

The hotel was clean and we had a polite welcome. However I was not aware that they had a policy of £30 “deposit” incase of any breakages. No where have I heard about this when I have paid for hotels and I was not told when this deposit would be reimbursed when the room was vacated with no issues (which it was). I would hope this deposit is reimbursed once checked on the checking out date. It does not make me want to book a holiday inn room again with random clauses such as this.

Horrible nasty but not cheap hotel in a derelict site in a rough bit of town. Took a deposit which I’m not sure I ever got back.

We paid £156 for one night. There was no parking on-site, they give a discount for a parking lot no where near the hotel and not the one closest to the hotel. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly then we couldn’t open the window because we had 4 huge fans going all night below us downstairs. We paid extra for the breakfast. There was no fruit bowls or yoghurt we had to wait for a table the cereals were basic. So basically we paid £156 for them to remake our bed in the morning

Arrived 30 minutes earlier than check in time,staff were so polite and helpful and checked us in on the spot.Room was perfectly clean bit small but was fine for us.Breakfast was good,they let us store our bags after checkout so we could soend the day in York again.Definitely will stay again.

Booked a Sofa bed for my 21 year old son sharing in Family room as i normally do. I was told by reception that Sofa bed was not sufficient for Adult due to size and was made to book an additional room. On arrival to room found Sofa bed was almost the size of our double and sufficient for an adult. On previous trips, this style of Sofa bed has been offered for an adult, so suits Holiday Inn as and when it pleases.
