Beautiful site

This property is in front of the ocean, and walking distance from the train station. Not only convenient it is also very clean quiet and beautiful! I loved my room because of we paid extra for the ocean view. Very friendly staff. Overall, I recommend to stay in this hotel Thank you!

We had a mosquito problem inside our room. Complained to the front desk and we were giving a upgrade and a perfect room. The lady at the front desk was excellent.

Four or five star hotels in Santa Margherita are expensive but the Metropole lives up to expectations. We had a quiet, well appointed room which was very clean and had a great modern bathroom. It was a garden suite. Hotel seems slightly old fashioned at first contact but bedrooms are good, the staff and service are excellent and it has a decent restaurant. We eat there both nights. It was great to have parking right outside as well. Nice indoor and outdoor pools and garden areas. Also a gym and spa as well. Good breakfast buffet with plenty of choice.

Hotel staff was amazing. Paid attention to every detail. The dining staff was the best. Again, paid attention to every little detail to ensure their patrons have the best experience. The views were spectacular.

Great location and facilities overall. Aircondition in our room didn’t function properly and the staff claimed 24 degrees in the room was normal. We got a room in the small villa connected to the hotel and might be the reason for the temperature. Not going back solidly because of the AC and the way the staff handled our complain.

Perfect Hotel for family vacation. Very friendly staff and did friendly.

I made a mistake in booking for one pax instead of two and so the hotel wanted to charge me more. Plus breakfast for two pax was extra as well as a better sea view room. It ended up being 160€ per night, much more than what I booked. I did a quick check at Hotels.com for the same date and it was still cheaper than what they charged me. I consoled myself by having a sea view room. Still the view was only partial. The hotel is right next to the main road and so it gets noisy at night from the buses and bikes that come through. There is no aircon and so it can get stuffy and so their suggestion is to leave the balcony door open hence the road noise. The elevator is very small and so only two pax with large suitcases can fit. Front desk staff is helpful. Breakfast is decent and what I like is the fresh orange juicer station. All in all, location is near town and train station but given what I was charged extra, I would probably opt for Hotel Continental which was just next door, a bit further from the main road and with a full frontal view of sea.

We were traveling through town for a few days. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed staying at the Hotel Metropole. The best surprised was the gym and SPA. It was fantastic and so refreshing. Although the pool was closed for the winter, the spa more than made up for it and at no additional charge. The only thing I didn't appreciate was a per person cover charge for eating at the restaurant. That doesn't seem like a good way to encourage guest to dine-in.

Each time I stay in Santa Margherita Ligure I stay at Hotel Metropole and it never disappoints. It’s a gracious, restful property that offers superior service & a friendly staff. Located a few minutes down from the train station the property sits among lush landscaping and it own private seaside area. For my frazzled self, staying here in a room with a patio overlooking the gardens was a balm for my spirit. Reassuringly the hotel still strongly emphasizes cleanliness & observes Covid protocols. Food is top notch and prices were very reasonable for cocktails, snack & aperitivo. A special callout to Jun & Amedeo who were extra attentive to me at breakfast. I’m very much looking forward to returning in a few months.

Resort amenities on the sea right in town

Hotel was tired, but clean. Amenities were ok. Not sure it’s suited for solo travellers. Staff were mostly unfriendly. Asked for a quiet room, after looking annoyed, they put me in a room facing a v busy road, next to the housekeeping cupboard (on 1side) and lifts/stairs (on other) and under an active family I could hear clearly. I was told there was nothing they could do as the hotel was full- no apology, no effort to make it better. I would not stay there again.

was a very comfortable stay. I walked to the location and it is on a bit of an incline to get there and it was a bit misleading as far as where the entrance was. There we’re about 3 signs before you actually got to the hotel! Was very tiring. The hotel itself was really great. I got a single bed with a balcony on the top floor which is all I needed. The bathroom/shower is really outdated and that’s probably my only negative observation. Breakfast was included and you can even juice your own oranges for fresh juice. They have a separate pool / beach area that includes a chair. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Hotel si very clean, people are always angry and they made you feel you are not welcome, even though the Hotel location is good, staff is so unfriendly and service is so bad, I will never come back to this hotel.

To be honest, I was amazed at the property when we arrived. It is in fabulous shape decor wise, the staff very efficient and welcoming and the room superb.we ate in the restaurant and the food was exquisite.

Always feels like you are coming home. The staff are absolutely amazing here especially if you have kids. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace is always great and Pool and beach are great to have.

Great hotel! Beautiful environment with great views, lush gardens and amazing beach/lounging/swimming area. Breakfast was nice and they had it updated for COVID times. Friendly helpful staff. Short walk to town. Wished we had more days to just relax here!

Adequate hotel that is a bit tired. Front desk staff are efficient and friendly. The spa, pool and fitness area are fantastic. The pool and spa are water from the sea adjacent to the hotel. This was the highlight of our stay. Having to pay €16 for parking in their car park was disappointing- should be included in stay. I would give it 3 stars - definitely one of those stars for the pool and spa, Turkish baths.

Loved everything about this hotel - the staff, the facility, the view, the food - best gin & tonics anywhere!! Cant wait to go back when it is in season (I was there in January).

The “sea view” room I booked was a sea view, if you stood at the window and cocked your neck to the side to see the sea. The room was small with no place on the sink area (no counter) to put your toothbrush/etc. The breakfast (included in my booking) was continental (extra charge for eggs). They have a big sign posted in the breakfast area (due to tour bus passengers who take food) that take away food will be charged. There was a large tour group and the hotel is situated along a hillside and far from the ocean front. There are many cobblestones, elevations and narrow walking areas to get to this hotel. The taxi drivers have a set 15 euro fee to go to this hotel, which is about 4 blocks downhill from the train station. Dinner was included in my stay, however, they charged me for a coffee and a water 14 euros. I would never come again to stay there, nor could I recommend anyone to stay there. The staff were not friendly.

This was the perfect place to end our honeymoon in Italy. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful. They did an excellent job with our laundry. The clientele at this hotel is a bit older, but we still enjoyed ourselves. We would definitely come again! This is a great hotel to stay and spoil yourself.

The options at breakfast were good but there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Also there was no water in the gym and there was no way we were paying EUR2.60 a bottle when the local supermarket sold a large bottle for EUR0.40.

Staff was pretty amazing. Very helpful.Since airlines lost all my luggage, would have been helpful if they had a washcloth in room. Other than that, the stay was amazing.I’d choose this hotel again, simply because it was close to train station, ferry and major shopping.
