The room we had had a strange lay out A lot of wasted space. It was clean and comfortable but the bathroom had a sliding window that opened. A little
Strange. Also the head of the bed abutted the bathroom so you could hear people in the bathroom. Not a fan of that

The hotel is close to everything. It is very clean and has great staff. No complaints.

The hotel was beautiful, the marble, the harbor, the tub was the best amenity. The restaurants breakfast vs room service were excessively priced for a breakfast. $45 dollars for a breakfast buffet is outrageous, that much money on a breakfast per person is insane. Sadly there isn't much for breakfast nearby, but there were some upscale places within a ten minute walk that could justify their price. Alot of the gym equipment my husband wanted to use like the rower was broken.
The bar, we were sad about this one. As we wanted an outdoor place to have cocktails. If you are going to charge $20 for a cocktail it better be delicious, mine was undrinkable and overly sweet. My husband's had unavailable ingredients and got charged The same for a dirty Martini as an "exclusive beverage" The TV in our room had a guide option that remained blank and a remote that had to be decades old. The "view" was nice. But mostly mirrored images of the city, as the room sat between to bump out features. The price tag vs the amenities was truly disappointing. If this hotel were 250 a night I'd give it 5 stars. My 3 stars is quite literally for the people who made our bed everyday.

I have requested for river view they gave me this view as attached no river I could see at all. And when I asked for higher floor they said I should pay $ 250 per night extra!other wise the city was clean and safe I would love to revisit Boston in future

We really enjoyed our stay at Intercontinental Boston. The hotel is wonderful and the location is great. Service was also excellent. Great spa there too.
My only disappointment was that Expedia had confirmed a Channel view room but the hotel did not have any more water view rooms available. They said that Expedia didnt submit the reservation until later and they had already sold out of water view rooms. This is not good. If Expedia cannot correctly confirm the room that I paid for, (charging more for a water view than a city view), then I will not be using Expedia to book another vacation. There is no excuse for this misleading confirmation of a water view room only to be told they are now sold out. Expedia should not be using this kind of misrepresentation in their online booking system if the room that you are confirmed to have is not available.

The Intercontinental Property in Boston treats Expedia clients like second rate clients.
They put us in a room that had no bedside lamps (as if that was normal) without mention and a room that was having electrical issues. We were unable to notify staff that we wanted privacy without entrance into the room which made us feel unsafe. It's worth mentioning that the same room is on top of the elevators and you can hear everything.
After telling them of the deficiency they recommended I stay in the room and wait for maintenance. They eventually moved me to the same room one floor up (also had flickering lights). I am so disapointed in the Intercontinental and also Expedia that it enables second rate service and rooms for their clients.

A/C is the most important thing in any hotel room. Told front desk. Still had to sleep in a 70-72 degree room. This is unacceptable

The room we checked into was filthy the housekeeping manager said they would move us into another room and they didn’t. When I came up to the front desk their employee Zach was extremely rude to us and wouldn’t accommodate us to another room he was raging that we decided not to stay and called security on me when I tried filming his bad behaviour. This hotel isn’t 5 stars they are pretentious! This hotel is falling apart.

I booked 2 queen beds for my son & I. We were given a room w/one bed & told it was b/c I booked w/a third party agent. They could not give us another room. A rollaway wasn’t offered. I had to ask. It made the room impossibly crowded. I will never stay with them again.

This hotel is gorgeous, there was some maintenance being done on the first floor elevators but you still had access to other elevators in the conference area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. One thing I was very unhappy with is the hotel ended up charging me an extra $300 in some fees. The destination fee and taxes were included in my Expedia price so I am not sure how or what the $300 was for, it is not clear in the receipt

Love the Intercontinental chain, and the Boston location. The concierge staff, lounge on the 12th floor, and all are always very professional and helpful. Excellent location to Boston's many attractions.
