Amazing stay staff excellent and professional and very friendly, breakfast was 5*

We loved this hotel (with the exception of no lifts, so carrying luggage from parking lot to room was over 40 stairs). We opted to just pull what we needed from luggage as we couldn't lift ourselves. Hotel is situated right in town near shopping and castle. We loved the location and the hotel. Staff was extremely friendly and accommocating.

Very central. Friendly helpful staff.
Our room was above a very noisy busy bar which didn’t end until 12.30 am. Not conducive to a restful evening or sleep.
It was a Saturday night, people should enjoy themselves. However we could have been allocated a room away from the bar noise.

Room was small but functional as we were only there for a night.

Stay here several times a year,on this trip the corridor and my room were stifilingly hot.Receptionist provided a fan but made no difference to room temperature and apparently they couldn’t adjust the temperature!!!!!!.Usually a great hotel to stay at but this really let them down.

Breakfast was fantastic. Overall brilliant - we will definitely be back

Lovely hotel right in the centre of Dunfermline, close to restaurants and bars and the bus station..
We booked the family room for one night which had one double bed and two singles and was very spacious..
Highly recommended.

I really liked our stay here, the rooms are spacious and the bath is a nice touch. They also have an excellent restaurant which is a plus where you can enjoy all the Scottish delicacies around. The staff is really responsive and loved the 121 touch you get that you don't get from big chains. Support your local economy everyone!

the visit was purely an 'overnight halt', arriving at 18:30 and departing at 06:00, dined out in the evening, had two drinks at a reasonable price in the main bar, room was warm and comfortable but the offering for a 'packed lunch' in lieu of departing early and missing breakfast was very poor. ( two slices of a small loaf with a filling, a bag of crisps, a banana, a tin of coke and a packet of biscuits ). I would have accepted a basic price £5-00 cheaper and no inclusive breakfast. Have dined 'in house' on previous visit and found menu and quality of a good standard

Best breakfast and staff hotel spotless single room small but everything you need will go back again

Food was lovely and plentiful. Averagely clean. Good value for money. Friendly staff. Lots of stairs to the top room. Thin walls, could hear person in next room.
Bed comfortable.

Charming, historic hotel in the center of town. A full, hot breakfast was included with the room. Such a nice touch

Having stayed here previously, we knew what we were going to unless there had been a drop in standards. It's most likely that we will use this hotel in the future as the location in the city centre is a big attraction for us.

Good food, good staff, good value, and within easy walking distance of the bus and train stations.

I would have stayed somewhere else had i known there was a karakoe disco going on downstairs. The sound penetrates throigh the walls and floor and i found it dificult to sleep with ABBAs dancing queen reverberating around the room. I stayed in room 31, there is one small high up window, looks like it has never been washed, also 31 directly above some toilets with LOUD hand dryers that get used throughout the night and into the small hours of the norning. The breakfast was nice, as were the staff.

A pleasant hotel, maybe a little tired around the edges.
Clean bed, bathroom, kettle provided with usual tea & coffee etc as was breakfast, that was excellent.
Lots of stairs, for the more sprightly that won't be a problem. We should have asked for a first floor room! Stairs to second floor a bit narrow and steep.
Would stay again but not on the second floor.

The hotel was clean, there were a few cobwebs on the light fittings but apart from normal wear and tear it was fine. Staff we came in contact with were all very friendly, pleasant and helpful. Hotel was near enough to Alhambra theatre where we were going for a show. Guy on reception gave us very accurate directions of how to get from hotel and timescale to get there. I would stay again if going to that area.

A lovely old coaching inn. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was very plentiful and the staff were very helpful.

The overall property was great. Staff was amazing. I loved how our towels nd toilet paper was replenished and stocked up each day without us even asking, this is something that we havent ever seen done in any other hotel. The rooms were spacious, the location was great. Free breakfast was offered which i didnt avail too because i didn't wake up. The property was clean. No issues with parking, loads of space available for parking in the back with some free private parking spaces allocated to the hotel.
My only one downside would be the size of the sink in the bathroom it was too tiny nd you couldnt really bend down properly to wash your face because of the small glass shelf above the sink so you ended up having water dripping over the floor.

The hotel is located right in the heart of the old city with easy access to restaurants, bus and train.

The hotel was generally nice, however it was very disappointing they dont allow you to bring take away up to the rooms. We were travelling, tired and wanted to be able to relax in our room and have dinner.
Othwrwise, the room was clean and the staff were friendly.

Overall a great stay for excellent value, I stayed in an executive double by myself. Clean and generally comfortable, with excellent breakfast and convenient location with car parking in rear and close proximity to a bus stop and bus station. Felt very safe.
However the hallway to my room was extremely warm and not able to adjust heaters (knobs removed). Upon entering, my room was also quite warm - I turned off the heat in room, which was on in the first week of Sept, and was able to open main window with difficulty - extremely heavy and stiff. Had I not been able to open the window the room would have remained too warm for my liking. There was a note that fans were available from reception.
Room itself was nice size, modern. Comfy firm bed./ With one USB port and outlets close by. Needed hooks for hanging clothes and towels (there wasn't even any in the bathroom) and shower was an awkward step up - shower bar difficult to reach - not recommended for those who may need!
Good tea/coffee in room. Excellent breakfast with self serve juice, cereal, yogurt, toast and hot breakfast options to order - particularly good full Scottish breakfast best haggis and blood pudding I had on my trip. Throughout the hotel, doors were a bit loud and with window open be aware some outdoor cafe/bar seating behind the hotel but it wasn't a big bother for me.

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights. I felt the hotel could be a bit better with a lift but otherwise perfect. Very nice room, very clean, very friendly staff, lots to do and see on the doorstep of hotel, many shopping and eating options. Really enjoyed our stay and we will return to the same hotel another time.

The hotel is fine for a one night stay. The staff, restaurant and lobby are good but the mattress was the worst. It felt like sleeping in a hammock. If they updated the bed it would be a much better experience.
