This hotel is good to access the convenien center and very comfortable. But, the wife is not working on some spots in the room.

I had stayed some days in Sao Salvador Hotel. This hotel have good restaurant and good english front workers. If you select this hotel, it is good selection. I recommand you.
I found a disadvantage in here. The rooms in this hotel donot have kitchen and cooking tools so I could not cook my country foods. If you want to cook your country food, you must get cooking tools.

Thank you, Arlene, for you unbelievable help after a medical emergency left us in Salvador for an additional night. The hotel is very upscale, excellent breakfast buffet, a very good value, and I highly recommend it for all travelers.

The hotel was really good with excellent Wifi, Pool and Gym facilities for guests. The breakfast was very good also. I had an issue whereby I was charged twice for my stay and it took a few attempts and some time before the issue was resolved. However, I think this was an honest mistake on the part of a new staff member. Everything else was excellent.

We were in Salvador for a conference, and Hotel Matiz was one of the preferred hotels -- with good reason! Although our Portuguese was limited, the highly professional staff did everything to make our 5 night stay a delight. The food was excellent, both the evening meal and the included cafe da manha. Great selection and very plentiful. Taxis were always at the ready, and tours were quickly arranged.
Take a day trip to Praia do Forte and Projeto Tamar. The half day tour of the old city is wonderful.

The hotel is new. Its staff is super warm, welcoming, and very helfpul. Food was great, and service outstanding. The pool is also very nice. The only snag is that it's a bit far from central Salvador where the main carnaval action is taking place.
