The hotel is set in a small village on the top of a hill overlooking Lake Como. The view is gorgeous, the restaurant was awesome and the staff are so lovely. I didn’t find the room particularly comfortable but we stayed in the least expensive room so perhaps the more expensive ones are a bit cozier. Our room was very basic and a bit run down but it’s an old building and has a lot of charm. Overall, it’s lovely but if you want luxury, I would recommend upgrading your room to a suite. Thanks to the hotel staff for the warm welcome!

Such a wonderful stay. Staff were really friendly, room was gorgeous, view was stunning. Felt clean but vintage and stylish. Food at the restaurant and at breakfast were lovely. If you're driving it might be easier to park in Como and get the furnacular up as it's literally right next to it and saves navigating up the hill.
If I could give more than 5* I would!

The Bellavista is simply charming! Our stay could not have been more enjoyable! If you enjoy a serine and quiet experience, staying at the Bellavista in Brunate is the best choice in all of Lake Como. The Bellavista is family owned and operated, which extends a warm and welcoming experience! The view of Como from the hotel is spectacular too!

This property was gorgeous. The views are amazing. The staff was very nice. They have a restaurant overlooking Lake Como that is spectacular. Dinner, wine and breakfast were lovely.
They stayed in contact with me via messages and answered all questions.
I will absolutely return to this hotel my next trip to Brunate.

Exceeded all expectations, friendly warm welcome, helpful in every way. Magical room with breathtaking views of Lake Como, authentic room and surrounding. Room was traditional yet had all the modern necessities needed. Young children were equally in awe of the hotel. 2 minute walk from amazing funicular that takes you down to Como. Delicious breakfast served by helpful and friendly staff enjoyed with views of Lake Como.

Hotel is beautiful inside and out with gorgeous views and good food. I didn't realize it's at the top of the funicular, so trips to and from Como are easiest using the funicular.

An incredible experience and property. Wonderful views beautifully restored building and rooms. Great restaurant and bar. Really a wonderful location and staff. The drive up is not for the faint of heart but we’ll worth it. 20 meters to the incline down to Como. My only complaint if you could call it that, is that it did not have A/C. But completely understandable given the age of the building. Was not expecting it but it did get very warm in August. Overall a great experience. Would absolutely recommend.

There are very rude employees in the hotel, there are 9 rooms in total, at least three people asked me which room I was in, there is no elevator in the hotel, the room is very dirty, the toilet is the worst hotel I've ever seen until I can't find a bathroom

The road up to the hotel is mostly one car wide and has to deal with two way traffic :-) We had reserved a parking space. The hotel doesn't have air conditioning, so in summer be prepared to sleep with the windows open and expect a few mosquito bites, there is also street noise, but that said, the room was large and comfortable. The staff are just wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. We ate at the restaurant and the food was exceptional. Would be happy to return.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful restaurant, kind and welcoming staff! Our room with a balcony overlooking Lake Como was perfect!
However, we didn't anticipate the lines for the funicular during the day. Many people take day trips to Brunate, so the wait for the funicular between 10 and 5 was between 30 minutes to an hour.
But the hotel was worth the small inconvenience of the funicular (which does have a lovely view!).

Nice hotel. Old but this is what gives it some charm. Easiest way to it was funicular. Had to queue for 90 minutes to get on it the Saturday we arrived. Pre-Book ticket and bypass the line.

My fiancé and I really loved this place. The staff were wonderful, and the area itself was perfect. The room was always clean with an amazing restaurant below serving magnificent food. When we come back to Como, we're staying here back at the Bellavista for a family friendly presence. Thank you to all the staff to make pur vacation so wonderful.

We absolutely loved our stay here! It's up in the mountains and oversees the town of Como. The view is incredible and they did a great job of preserving the historic building. That being said, there is no AC, so if you are there in the summer when it's hot, expect to sleep with the windows open. I will say that if you are someone who has allergies to bugs including bees/wasps you will need to be very careful when in the area as they are rampant! The area is nice to walk around and there is also a funicular that will take you down to Como if you don't want to drive back down.

Always dreaming of coming back, we spent 3 nights in this very unique, quirky and romantic hotel with a view over Como and the southern lake basin.
What makes this special is the staff, that are professional and serviceminded, yet personal and friendly. You just want to come back and be pampered all over again.
The location just next to the funicular is convenient, should you not fancy the drive up the steep hill, which teaches you a lesson in Italian mounting driving. The restaurant has a great view from both inside and the outside space and the kitchen is great with good wines at reasonable prices. The rooms are clean and beds are good, but don't expect luxury in the classic sense - but if you're into shabby chic - you're right at home.

Honestly, my opinion about this hotel is mixed. Of course, the view is amazing, and the food is good. However, the staff was rather unfriendly, and on my second day at breakfast, I had to ask for a bunch of things which were there on the first day, but not on the second. There is no way to sit and relax or read except on the terrace outside which quickly fills up with tourists coming for lunch, coffee or dinner.
The room was small and the mattress hard and uncomfortable, so was the only small pillow. The bathroom and shower were nice.
All in all, I didn't really feel welcome there.

Beautiful old, historic boutique hotel with great atmosphere and amazing views. Driving up by car can be a bit challenging so if you are not comfortable driving on very narrow roads with tight curves you should take the cable car. I'll bring you right to the hotel. Clean and great new bathroom. Great restaurant. Unique views of lake Como!

The only good thing with this hotel is the view they had over the Como lake.
I regretted my choice of stay the moment I stepped in the the room.
The room was small, located on the second floor with very poor lighting. The air conditioner in the room was not functional and the most annoying part of our stay was the night itself. The hotel restaurant was open until late midnight which make sleeping almost impossible due to huge noise coming from the restaurant guests.
During the day and meanwhile we waited for our room to get ready, we ordered some food from the restaurant which was horrible. The pasta was unfortunately the worst dish I have ever had in my life. The "fresh organe juiced" was filled with Ice and the Coke drink I order tasted like suger.
I was very happy the next day when I left the hotel and will never come back there.

My wife and I (from Auckland, New Zealand) stayed here for 2 nights. We arrived by Bus from Luzern, Switzerland which stopped at the main rail station in Como and walked to the cable car. Was easy to find. The hotel was really great - we loved it. You take the cable car up to the top (which is part of the adventure) - you have a great view of Como and the lake. Staff were helpful - the breakfast was excellent. We recommend this lovely / boutique hotel and we would certainly love to stay again.
