Was staying in Newquay for the weekend to do some sightseeing. Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Only let down is the hotel needs some updating. A lick of paint, maybe some new doors and windows. Other than this it was great and wouldn’t mind stopping again. The pub downstairs was great, only has breakfast there that was nice. Went down for a drink every night, they had live music on Friday and a quiz on Sunday which we thought was great! You’re in a certain location where you can walking to just about everywhere in Newquay.

Room was clean and spacious decour need addressing skirting boards looked liked they had been rubbed down but not painted so were a multi coloured and areas on wall 1 different shades on same wall bed was comfy but had what sounded like a motor keep kicking in at night so disturbed sleep

Location is great but hotel is run down and park only available if pre-booked . which i found out when i arrived. It cost me an extra £36 to park for 3 days

Stunning views. Staff were very friendly. The hotel is in a great location . Nice breakfast. Pre booked parking was very convenient. We were able to park at 12 even though check in was at 2:30.

Charming old Hotel but requires some maintenance. Our room was clean , bed comfy and staff were excellent. Very basic menu . Newquay has gone down hill terribly over the years but the natural beauty of the coastline remains breathtaking.
We had a fantastic sea view from our room which balanced out the disrepair .

Bedroom Right above to the dustbins and kitchen vents and boiler chimney so very noisy especially on 5 am bin collection. They couldn’t offer an alternative room as coming up to bank holiday weekend. Also very creeky floor boards.

Right in centre of Newquay, close to Beaches, Main Street and Railway Station. Outside of building does look a bit weather worn but that is probably only to be expected given the location The Bar and Dining area is relatively spacious & the included breakfast was pretty good! Room was smallish, relatively comfortable bed and a clean toilet and shower. Hotel staff were all extremely pleasant!

Bedroom and bathroom were a good size. Previous occupants dirty towel left on radiator. Paperwork and crumbs on bedside table,crumbs on other bedside table. Both single beds were not made up properly and pillow cases looked as if they hadn't been changed,so I got 2 fresh pillows from the wardrobe.
I also found a blood spot on one pillow and a stain on one quilt cover. I have photos.

The stay was beautiful! It was relatively clean but there were some black spots in the bathroom and some stains in the carpet. Its an old building so this wasn't necessarily surprising. Location was perfect. Overall a very nice and lovely stay for the money!

Check in was very good staff were very helpful and friendly we used a public car park 100yds away which was free. Our room on the second floor was clean and tidy and quiet

Shower head was not attached to the wall it kept falling when on witch meant i had ti manually hold it
Service at recpetion was slow and not very professional i actually checked out at 5.30 pm and did not stay the night

Was allocated the room early so i coild relax after my long journey.
Car park space booked at £7 per day so didnt have to search for parking.
Room 202 was spacious with sofa so larger than expected.

My stay at the great Western Hotel was great the breakfasts was great the staff was really nice and friendly i cant folt it i would definitely recommend it and will be staying there again thats how muched i liked my stay

Staff were amazing and really welcoming. The room and especially the bed was really comfortable and clean. Great central place to stay. Breakfast was very good for the price and a good choice of cotenental and cooked food.

Nice and cosy hotel. Beautiful view from the restaurant and hotelroom if you have one with seaside view. We have had a great and good time in this hotel and will return certainly when we are coming back to Cornwall.

Not all rooms are created equal here, but the seavew room was divine. Stunning views of the
sea. Hotel is right at the beach, steps to the railway. Staff are lovely and breakfast had lots of options and delicious.

Hotel offered incredible value for money. Its proximity to the beach and restaurants was so convenient. What truly stood out was the mesmerizing sea view from the restaurant – it added an extra layer of charm to my dining experience.

Hotel a bit tatty in places. Shower just a bit faster than a dribble and went hot and cold few times. Terrible whistling noice from front window all night. Just one bath towel between 2 of us. Reception staff all fine and apologised. Just things that can easily be fixed

Beautiful stay for my birthday surfing trip. My room was wonderful with views of the sea. The food and drinks in the restaurant were lovely and faultless. Helpful and friendly staff that took their time to serve you and didn’t rush the service. This was fantastic to see and is rare to find now. Hotel needs painting and the bedroom windows could be cleaned but apart from those minor decorative things it was wonderful. Pre book and pay for a parking space at the hotel as they are limited and chargeable.

Unfortunately we did not enjoy staying in Newquay. We booked 3 nights but only stayed for one. The hotel was very old, the corridors are so dark, everywhere painted magnolia. The room smelt and had view's of the very run down high street. The lift is in poor decorative condition, like something from the 70's?
The lounges and dining area was nice though and had sea views.
The views to all the beaches are amazing.
Unfortunately the high street is very run down and needs clearing up. Very tatty looking shops.
I'm sure if you are just surfing and in your 20's you would enjoy the area.
