We had great time in Hanamomiji for ryokan and onsen. The facility seems old but maintained well. We wish the staff can speak English and provide resources for foreign travelers.

大浴場、部屋、サービス、夕食とても良かったです。 ただ、朝ご飯のビュッフェのとき、トイレ掃除に使うような手袋つけさせられてとても嫌でした。せめて布のものを使わせて欲しいです。

This Onsen town is just 1-hour drive from Sapporo city. I would use "full-on" to describe this onsen trip because this hotel has a number of Onsen baths inside the hotel complex. So before and after dinner are full of onsen bathing activities. Nevertheless, the hotel lobby has an area for relaxation with drinks and music. In-room steamed onsen bun is fun as welcome treat.

Disappointed about the free shuttle bus service. I have tried to book the service, however the staff said it’s full. Also, we have dinner at the hotel, all the dishes were served at the same time instead of served one by one. The hot spring is quite good. The room is very big.

Great experience or Japanese Ryokan, definitely recommendable.

There is a bus to the hotel at 2:00 pm from new chitose airport ，free shuttle to Sapporo center at 10:00 am. Excellent services and food.

It was really good and I can strongly recommend this hotel to family traveler. The dinner and the breakfast tastes good. Overall I am very satisfied with this hotel. One thing that I missed was the fact that I could use the 12th floor's onsen for women because of the construction.

The facilities including sauna are really nice and enjoyed good refresh. However, the room has strong stench !! I can't stay in the room and can't sleep well. Maybe, it is smoking room . The guest should ask non-smoking room when you book.

Really nice stay in beautiful onsen spot on Hokkaido. The hotel is in great spot for explor8ng, hiking, relaxing and enjoying onsen experience. The hot spring area is just to the east of Sapporo is easy to get to by car or bus. The hotel was exceptional, free drink area, books, magazines, views, exceptional onsen sand food was delicious. The staff was very helpful including reserving ferry ride back to mainland. The area has much to do, we explored, hiked, rode our motorcycle and found neat places, both local and fancy to eat. We will be back.

A nolstagic trip back to Hokkaido, last time I visited was in 1988!! The hotel is located in a small hotspring town next to a fast flowing river. My husband has never stayed at a ryokan style hotel before, so was surprised not to see a bed in the room! The tatami mat room is spacious with windows. The public sex segregated bathing area is spacious and with an outdoor soaking pool, very enjoyable. The kaiseki cuisine dinner was just amazing; with a mini hotpot, and mini rice pot cooking before you. The dozen or so mini starters and entree dishes were all delicate presented and tasted just as good. The breakfast was adequate with Japanese and Western selection of food. We took the 30 minutes circular walk from the hotel to walk both sides of the river and to cross the bridges to see the town more closely. I visited the small temple at the head of the road leading back to the hotel and made my wish. To pray, first pull the bell to wake up the god first. Stand in front of the deity statue, drop money into the donation box. Then bow twice; clap your palms together in front of chest, and make your wish at the same time, bow once more to conclude the praying ritual. Bow one last time before leaving the temple for respect. May your wish come true!!

Fantastic kaiseki dinner, could do with longer hot spring hours though

It was an amazing trip at the Hanamomiji. Food is excellent, room is big, tidy and clean. Hotel services and staffs are excellent.

room: spacious with large dresser area, well equipped with toiletries, hair dryer, CD player with a selection of CDs inside room (and wide selection of movie DVDs to borrow from reception). onsen: nice outdoor one. meals: very full, quality satisfactory for this room price. overall great value for money, would recommend to friends. only problem was that the room was too hot, whether we turned on or off the airconditioning

It was such a good chance to stay in Hanamomiji. Every staff was really nice and I believe they are well trained. Room condition was great. It was such a good experience for me and my family to stay in Hanamomiji. Ryokan was really warm and clean. All the stress went away. Food was delicious and I could feel how much effort they have put for customers.

Started a week trip in Hokkaido and what a stay. Relaxing and comfortable with great onsen experience. The staff was wonderful and meal (dinner) that was included with the room was great. Breakfast was a buffet which was good. Small onsen town to walk around and explore.

The hotel great, very central to Jozankei and there is a bus stop next to ours exit. The outdoor bath is limited in time per day to be shared between women and men, but it is worth it. The second bath is also very good and has an outside area too. As you would expect, the staff is dedicated and the traditional food amazing.

We had in-room dinner on the first night. The meal was rich and delicious. The onsen was good too, especially the outdoor one though it is a bit small. The staff were all friendly and attentive. Too bad that the private onsen was fully booked when we checked in.

I love this place! From the check-in, room facilities, cleanliness, meals provided were excellent which were included in the hotel charges, free blue-ray DVD rental, spacious room on tatami mats with separate dressing room and the toilet! Hotel staffs were also very helpful. The stay at this hotel was by far my best experience in Sapporo!

Stayed a night here. Room was bigger than Shogetsu hotel nearby and Onsen was okay. Shogetsu food-wise was better. Hanas lobby had complimentary wine n coffee while you enjoy classical or jazz music played from their Audio system.

We stayed in late February , snow was heavy, we park our car at hotels car park which is no cover, next morning, hotel staff clean up the snow on my car, so sweet they are. And the outdoor onsan also wonderful, l can enjoy snow was falling on my head.

Nice quiet hotel with a nice hot spring and scenary/landscape. Room is spacious and supposed to have great view of the mountain but ours was blocked by a big generator. The disappointment of this trip was upon checking in, we were informed that we would have no special dinner as we need to order at least 3 days in advance. This applies for other nearby hotels in Jozankei as we were turned away by 2 other hotel's restaurants. The feeling was awful and we felt devastated. We managed to eat at the Japanese restaurant in our hotel but the food was below average. It was a waste to stay in such a room since we were unable to enjoy the special meal there as it was supposed to be the highlight of the trip. We spent most of our time at the lobby as that is the only place with Wifi and there were free beverages available most of the time. The only thing worth about this trip is the breath taking scenary during winter. We can find equivalent standard hot spring at Chitose Airport. Meanwhile, the hotel booking should emphasis that meal requires advance booking and food may not be easily available around the area.

Great hotel, room, food and onsen and nice staff. There is a shuttle bus service from Sapporo tower, very convenient.
