Wanted to try this newer property, and knew it would have a full refrigerator/freezer, which I used for my travel cooler items and to refreeze ice packs. Pricier than other Carbondale hotels, but conveniently located within walking distance of SIU campus and train depot.

A perfectly lovely stay in a clean hotel in a tiny town with very few attractions. Very overpriced for the location.

The very most amazing and caring staff when our family needed it the most.

Room was clean with lots of space. Bathroom pocket door does not stay closed and didn’t lock.

We dropped our son off at school and stayed overnight. Everything was great except for the pillows.

Front desk staff was the best at check in. Super friendly and accommodating. We needed to have an email printed and the lobby printer was not working correctly. The two ladies were super helpful and printed the two pages out for us, so we could attend my son’s college tour without any problems. Thank you so much!

Conveniently located for our visit to Giant City State Park and wineries in the region.

This hotel is in a great location! Walking distance to the university and close restaurant and bars near. The only bad things I have to say is the music from the near by bar made it hard to sleep, also when we went to check out their wasn’t an option for the hotel to hold our belongings, which was a very big inconvenience bc we had taken the train up. We ended up having to pay additional money to have a later check out just to store our belongings. We were here to visit the University and it would have been hard to show up at an open house with luggage in hand. Overall the stay was good dispite those couple of things.

Quiet and clean. Marissa at the front desk was wonderful.

No safe in room. When we called to ask about it, we were told that there should be one in the room, but maybe "something happened" and there wasn't one. Bathroom pocket door wouldn't stay closed, we had to prop it with a towel which didn't quite work. Room was humid and muggy no matter how high we cranked the air. Room was run- down and visibly stained, with peeling wallpaper and stained seats. The room had a smell like animals had stayed there recently. Hotel employees were not very friendly, and breakfast attendant was visibly irritated with people getting breakfast.
Couldn't use the pool because it was constantly overrun by screaming people running and jumping and splashing excessively.

Property was nice and clean.
Staff seemed unsure of a lot and would not give direct answers. Even checking in they said they had to see if they had a room available and made me wait 10 minutes…I had a reservation…?!
I called for extra pillows for the couch pull out bed and their answer was that they had to see if any were available. They did show up with them eventually.

Love this newer clean all suites hotel with an excellent breakfast. Stayed here many times. Two problems: 1. noisy from nearby railroad. 2. Bathroom sliding doors can't be closed because they slide back open.

Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and everyone had to evacuate the building. I was unable to return to sleep. A wasted nighr in the hotel.
