A lovely little hotel with a lot of character, in the heart of the old city, just a couple of minutes' walk from York Minster. The staff were pleasant, the room was charming, and the breakfast was delicious.

Lovely stay, great location that is the best thing about the stay. Clean and tidy, good breakfast. The room was very noisy hearing from the street early in the morning but that is not the hotels fault.

Perfect location for a visit to York and really excellent breakfast. Our room at the top of the hotel was very compact but reasonably comfortable. The en-suite shower room was definitely the smallest we have ever seen. Usable but tiny- and for larger people probably challenging!

Fantastic location , very central . Reasonable quiet of a night.
We stayed in one of the top rooms which we loved ,however it had the smallest bathroom I have ever used ,me and my husband are quite small if you where on the large side I would suggest different room choice . Service ,cleanliness was impeccable . Breakfast choice was good and food was delicious and well cooked.

The hotel is perfectly located in a little street in the city centre. Easy to get to and from and 10 min walking from the train station.
It is surrounded by little shops and restaurants.
The room is a good size. The bed and pillows are OK and the bathroom is a good size as well.
Breakfast is included and really nice.
Everyone is very attentive and eager to help.

A very central hotel close to the Minster and the centre of historic York. A comfortable and quiet bedroom which felt cosy. The staff are outstanding - friendly, polite, considerate and keen to help. Food is also excellent and generously portioned.
The whole experience was excellent and very good value. I will return.

Let down by the bathroom, servicable but could do with some tlc.
Delicious dinner in restaurant and good breakfast.
Menus need sorting out as the food cost significsntly more on the menu in the restaurant than the menu in the room.

We booked this hotel due to its location as we had never been to York before. My friend and I wanted to do the Christmas market. I had not realised how perfect the location was. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a room on the top floor. but the work out on the stairs helped burn off the wonderful food available in York. On booking the hotel suggestion of per booking the car park 🅿️ was really helpful is a 6min walk from hotel.

Excellant stay. Staff really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellant.The location of the hotel is excellant, just one problem the whole of the centre is in a pedestrianised area making transporting luggage to the hotel difficult.

Great find, perfect location great price.
Forest restaurant dinner was superb, breakfast was mediocre ; apart from soft boiled eggs which were perfectly runny( a rare treat) Awful OJ.
The Forest was a very strange decor . I get that it was supposed to be in the forest but it was brimming with dusty plastic Ivy !?! Very comedic decor. The rest of the set up was very nice and service superb. Room was compact and super cute.

What a little gem of an hotel. It’s situated in the heart of old York where everything is within an easy walk. The staff are just lovely and the room was very comfortable. We were very glad of the fan in the room as the windows didn't open (I’m sure for safety reasons) and it got very hot. Breakfast was fresh, delicious and generous. Thank you for a lovely stay

I loved this hotel. It is in the best location and all the staff were friendly and helpful through our stay.
It is completely unique and the bar and restaurant are beautiful with a really good vibe.
Our room was very clean and comfortable but could do with more storage.

Ideal location, a 2-min. walk from York Minster. Staff very helpful providing guidance and hospitality. Great choice of complimentary breakfasts. Very pleased, would absolutely stay there again.
