Beautiful, restored very old inn. Spacious bedroom with character, privacy and great view.

A beautiful hotel ideally positioned in the centre of town. We were using as a stop over on way back to Calais and was ideal. Need to be aware the hotel opens at 04:00pm for check in and there was no facility to get coffee or breakfast and as we were staying New Year’s Day (everything in town was closed) meant a drive out to Burger King!! However lovely hotel full of character

Very friendly and helpful staff. The bed was comfortable and the filling breakfast very reasonably priced. We enjoyed our stay.

Amazing experience to sleep in such an old property. Pierre was very helpful to explain everything.

We chose the hotel because of its location near the cathedral which we wished to visit. A refreshing change from the chain hotels we normally use in France. An extremely helpful and courteous owner (Pierre) gave us a choice of rooms and we enjoyed the space and features provided. Breakfast was very fresh and represented good value. We used the recommended parking nearby which was fine for an overnight stay but may be a problem if staying longer. Happy to recommend this as a good place to stay.

This hotel far exceeded expectations. It’s lovely staying in a place that has character. The man at the desk couldn’t have been more helpful. Excellent position in the old town.

The hotel had many very positive reviews so we booked on that basis and a very competitive price. The town of Laon is very interesting with old historic architecture - Hotel Les Chevaliers. The receptionist could not have been more helpful or friendly. Being a very old building we were of course not expecting 5 star luxury and the bedroom clean and comfortable matched that expectation being simple and very basic - the bathroom was however disappointing being very tired and frankly not very clean - more due to the age of the room and appliances rather than poor housekeeping. Breakfast was basic but nicely served and very reasonable at 7 euros.

THE MOST CENTRAL OF THE TWO HOTELS ON THE ACTUAL MOUNTAIN OF LAON AND YET QUITE TRANQUIL. (NOTE THAT THE FAMOUS OLD CABLE RAILWAY FROM THE STATION TO THE SUMMIT IS CURRENTLY NOT FUNCTIONING SO STAYING UP IN THE TOWN ITSELF IS RATHER IMPORTANT. VERY HELPFUL OWNERS. NOT LEAST ON SOLVING PARKING PROBLEMS. NICE OLD-FASHIONED FRENCH BREAKFAST INSTEAD OF THE OVER ELABORATE, OVERPRICED MANY HOTELS OFFER THESE DAYS. WE'LL STAY AGAIN

Warm welcome, comfortable bed, great location and good value for money.

Les Chevaliers is a unique old property which was once part of a historic monastery. Lots of nooks and crannies and no two rooms are the same. Excellent welcoming host who couldn't be more helpful (his English is very much better than my French). Continental breakfast, croissant and baguette, with coffee or tea, in a dining room with wall plaques depicting parts of the Bayeux tapestry, was very satisfying. A wander around the medieval town of Laon, built on top of a hill, offers the visitor some interesting sights. The architecture, little passages with detailed murals, not to mention the impressive Notre Dame of Laon, which is only 300 yards from the hotel. (Parking is in a square 50 yards from the property). We'll be back!!

The bedroom was very comfortable in deed. However. there are a couple of points I should mention for future guests. Firstly, the hotel stairs may not be suitable for some older guest and the bedrooms are situated on several floors. The hotel states they have facilites of free parking. This does not appear to be true.The only free parking is at certain times around the town. The town is always busy. The town of Laon is well worth a visit.

Lovely hotel in great location. Staff were helpful and the room was lovely, comfortable and clean. Only issue was restaurants in Laon on Sunday seem few and far between!

This is a no frills hotel. Very minimal toiletries (shampoo and soap) and no tea or coffee in bedroom. It also needs some updating, which appears to be ongoing. Not recommended for the infirm as there is no lift. Having said that, it is clean, in a very good position close to the cathedral, with bags of character and lovely views from the 2nd floor. The owner couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The breakfast at 7€ was excellent with unlimited coffee. I would certainly recommend as a low cost option and would stay again.

A nice rustic hotel in the centre of the old medieval city. Close to restaurants and the Cathedral. The service was very helpful and friendly.

A unique property full of character in the centre of this old town. Clean and tidy, we had a comfortable and pleasant stay.

The hotel is in the centre of the ancient town and they have worked hard to maintain some lovely architectural features in the building. Being close to quite a few bars and restaurants we thought it might get noisy at night, but were pleasantly surpised at having a quiet and peaceful sleep. The old sprial stairs are beautiful, but some people may find them awkward.

It was a quirky individual property. Quiet location. There was no hot water. It was at best tepid - certainly not hot enough to bathe or shower. I reported it to reception who checked and said the boiler was ok. I suspect the boiler is insufficient to provide hot water for the property. However charming I think it imperative to get the basics right and they failed on this.
