The room was spotless and tastefully decorated, the bed was super comfy! The food was good and reasonably priced and the breakfast was amazing! All the staff were super friendly, would definitely stay there again!

Fan in bedroom was filthy. And the room was very hot. Breakfast was poor

We loved this centrally located historic pub! The lovely assistant manager Emma was kind and welcoming from the start. We had a gorgeous big room overlooking the 'beer garden', plenty of hot water, and included breakfasts that were traditional and delicious. We highly recommend this spot for price, comfort, location and outstanding friendly staff. (Also many many different kinds of gin to choose from!) 😀 we loved it!

Excellent stay. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived till we left. A very pet friendly hotel, the staff went out of their way to please the dogs as much as us. Food was excellent we loved the breakfast. Ample parking in the public car park. We would recommend and hopefully we will return.

Nice, clean room and bathroom. Great breakfast, best rasher of bacon I've had in years. One problem: it was very noisy until late, boxing match being broadcast in the bar below and then people in the street at chucking out time. In all, good VFM

Great accommodation in a great town

This is an excellent hotel right in the heart of Ilkley with easy access to plenty of places to eat and drink. Right at the foot of the Moors, there’s plenty of amazing walks starting right on the door step. The staff here were all great and very welcoming and attentive from start to finish. The room we had was spacious and very clean with contemporary furnishings and all the amenities you would want. Highly recommended place to stay.

Lovely stay for two nights as had a wedding nearby, parking a bit of a nightmare, all staff are friendly and food was very good, room was lovely with comfy beds and a good tv.

Parking in a council run car park pay by app. Free after 1800 but have to pay again at 0800 but on app it’s easy. Staff and host very friendly. Good food. Good beer. What more do you want.

The Black Hat is a long-term favourite when I stay in Ilkley. For business users, it's great with breakfast served from 7:30am, including fully cooked options and lighter items like cereals. The rooms are immaculate. The two ladies that keep the place tidy should win an award for the cleanest toilets (and overall bathrooms and bedrooms) in Ilkley! It makes the stay so much nicer when it is totally spotless. You can really see the attention to detail in the cleaning and tidying. The pub itself has a good atmosphere, a mixed crowd with plenty of younger folks too, plus a great beer garden and sheltered / heated huts outside.

Lovely stay but disappointed with lack of non dairy alternatives at breakfast, particularly as I let them know in advance. These days, these items should be stocked as standard. Attention to small details like these are very important.

The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is delicious! The entire areas of rooms and bathrooms are super clean, in fact I don't think I've stayed anywhere cleaner before! I asked for a bath and was upgraded to the room to grant my request, which was lovely. The beds are super comfortable and the bathrooms are modern, pristine, and have all you need.
