Weird no reception staff at all. When I arrived the door was locked and I was texted a code to unlock it. The whole stay no staff were in the building

Nice location

Smallish room but adequate for us. A few repairs needed but it is a very old building. It was warm and comfortable with everything one would expect. Would book again.

The bed had hairs in it so had obviously not been changed.after the previous occupant. The en-suite fittings were rustly. Generaly not a pleasant place to stay at all.

Cheap hotel. Basic. Did have tea and coffee and complimentary water. Ensuite bathroom and a TV. Rather rundown, old and musty. Stains on the carpet. Batgroom clean but mould on the ceiling and dated.

Firstly let me this just say that room was an ok price for what we received & I have used a few times so this is general feedback to each of my stays. Each time, just the 1 night & have been in a few different rooms. Bit out of the way to get to (round the streets to find). Carpark basic & lots of construction going on around so not the nicest look as you drive up. On first look inside it is quaint/quirky but slightly dated. Receptionist is not around all the time as does a number of jobs around the lodge but bell to ring for service & didn't wait too long. Nice & friendly & helpful. Good wifi & entrance keypad (info on what to do for both provided). Generally lodge is dated & in need of a refresh/upgrade but it is nice enough & generally served what I needed from it. On one stay I did see some supplies/extra stock left outside in corridor - so not a great look. Rooms - dated as well but standard stocked tea/coffee refreshments. TV was ok as well (some a bit old & slow). Very comfy beds - so good mattress & got good night sleep (main thing). Not too noisy either. No aircon but fan provided which was decent & not too noisy. No breakfast option - not even just cereal & toast with tea/coffee & juice on offer as that would be better. So had to find somewhere - luckily had car. All in all I received a decent service & I suppose reasonable value for money (have received better in some places for the money). However, I have stayed a few times & will use again - so says something.

The room needed a really good clean, was marks on the walls and on bathroom tiles and a lot of lime scale on the sink taps that could be easily removed.
The room looked really tired, needs new carpet, new curtains and the walls need painting.
The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean.

Lovely old building, v. friendly and efficient guy on reception...no frills place but absolutely fine. Can be reached by bus from Gatwick railway station 10 minute walk - save the taxi fare!

its got amazing rooms. the best freindy staff.

The property is located in the middle of a housing estate. Not would one expect. My gps put me outside someone’s house. Nowhere to eat if you arrive on a Sunday.

We had the most amazing stay at the Barrington Lodge
Only a 20 minute walk or even that to Crawley town Centre it is absolutely beautiful there
The management was so friendly, so helpful and there every step of the way for anything you need
Yusuf the manager was his name
We would so recommend this hotel to anyone
We will definitely stay here again

Nice hotel and very good value for money. Yes, it’s a little dated but everything is very clean and tidy plus a very spacious private car park outside. There is a nice pub literally next door plus plenty of nice restaurants and bars within walking distance. Would definitely come back again.

Woke up due to intense noise through the roof and could not sleep after

Cheap and cheerful. Did the job for an overnight stay.

Bathroom too tight. No space in the bedroom

Definitely not a 4 star property. No air con so room was hot. Shower is hard to work either freezing cold or burn yourself. Was no staff at reception and when we contacted the number given they didn’t understand. No towel or shower mat so got slippy. The bed however was comfy and tv was good.

There was bugs all over my room and the sheets were dirty. Worst stay of my life

Ideal for Gatwick at a great price.

Pros: cheap, convenient, polite staff.
Cons: very dirty, thin walls, poorly quipped, uncomfortable beds.

Nice house. Nice room. Rather near city.

On arrival seemed ok, but run down. Went out for food and came back to full parking spaces outside the hotel. I parked across from the hotel and had a local come up to my car and tell me to move before the guy who parks there comes back because I don’t want to see him angry. Then came endless itching throughout the night unable to sleep at all, I left at 3am continuing to itch till the next day

A dated property that needs some money spent on it. Our room was small with cobwebs on the ceiling which could easily be reached to clean. Bed not that comfortable.

No sound proof rooms , noise from a party , also people walking up and down floors I work at Gatwick Airport Ann Work shift patterns which I had to get up very very early, but the noise was incredibly loud.
Dirty coffee cups teaspoon a horrible odour in the bathroom And one dirty pillowcase
2.5
First impressions, as you drive through a housing estate were not good, however, both rooms we had booked were very clean and had all we needed for a stop off to the airport. Probably one of the cleanest hotels I've used in a while. I have paid double and had dirty rooms in Birmingham, Cambridge, Chester,York and London . Quite hotel all night even though it was full.

Ok for my 1 night stay … probably won’t stay there again ..

After I booked and paid for a stay here, I looked at the very negative reviews. I must say my room was fine with a good en-suite. It is a good mile south of Crawley and the train station. When I arrived, the car park looked totally uncared for which gives a poor impression.
However, other than the distance to Crawley I would have been willing to rebook.

Great welcome and tucked away yet convenient spot, clean, welcoming and comfortable!

Came off an eight hour flight to find no one at the front desk to greet us. There was a sign that said they could be reached on “WhatsApp”, no one replied for almost over four hour. An older gentleman comes from upstairs and starts talking to us to then say he didn't work there (he later used a key to let us in our room) the room was tiny and on the first floor just left of the reception desk. We could hear all conversations happening in the lobby and our door would shake and rattle anytime someone opened or closed the main front door. The bathroom was tiny and cramped. The shower curtain was dirty and should have been changed a long time ago. Things in the room such as the tea kettle were dusty, showing signs that they had not been touched in a while. The room and just initially interaction was so bad I canceled the rest of my stay in that room and booked somewhere else. All in all zero out of ten would not recommend

It was a lovely place and a lovely clean room but the shower is rubbish it burns you even on low for hot then goes freezing cold.
Also the queen bed had a dip in the middle so couldn't have any contact with my partner.

Disappointing stay. The bathroom was not clean and there was a lingering unpleasant smell. The whole place feels uncared for. One positive, the large bed was very comfortable.

Nice clean and easy

The place has obviously been around a while, the staff were friendly however elusive. The place could do with an update. The TV in the room for example has to be from the 90s lol. But generally the place was quiet

We always love coming back to barrington lodge, the staff bend over backwards to help us each time we come back. Not only are the rooms kept at a good price for a single night, £60, but for that price, you cannot complain with what is given to you here.

The guys attending in the property were nice and helpful
But, the first day I arrived earlier and there was no one there until 3pm, so not even to store the bags.
There is mo laundry, no food in the property.
So all in all I think for overnight stay is ok, just overnight
2.5
Nice hotel quiet and clean
