This was the absolute highlight of our holiday. Francesca and Mauro were so friendly and welcoming, and gave us loads of great suggestions about the local area (and beyond for our onward journey!). We felt truly looked after, and although Francesca speaks excellent English she was very encouraging and patient with my bad Italian :) The room was very large with lots of storage, a comfortable bed and a large bathroom with a good shower. However you won't want to spend much time in the room because the real high point of Il Fienile is the garden with the stunning panoramic view of the San Gimignano skyline and the valley below. When the weather is good (which was practically every day) breakfast is served there so you can start the day with the great view, and we also spent several evenings out there watching the sun go down and enjoying the selection of excellent local wines they have. The B&B is about 10 minutes walk from San Gimignano so you have the double benefit of being close to the town but also being able to benefit from some peace and quiet and the lovely view. We will 100% stay again when we revisit Tuscany.

Honestly there's nothing we would improve, it was so lovely.

The staff is so wonderful and warm and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and with a perfect view of the town as it is very close. The olive oil that they make/sell is delicious. The room was so so clean and comfortable and felt like home + the mattress was very comfortable. The bathroom so clean and spacious. Would recommend over and over to anyone going to San Gimignano. I wish we had stayed longer.

Absolutely lovely stay, Franscesca and hei family did their very best to make us feel comfortzble (including homemade bakery for breakfast).

Everything. Francesca made everything perfect. She offered and gave a cooking class to my wife and granddaughter and told us where we should go for the best meals and additional places to see. She also gave background to us for Italian traditions. It was the best of experiences for us all! Everything was delightful - comfy beds, a beautiful garden to sit and relax with wine and appetizers…all overlooking beautiful San Gimignano.

We loved everything about this B&B. The hosts are exceptionally nice, the view is spectacular, beautiful property and great breakfast.

I can honestly recommend this beautiful place for your stay in San Gimignano. The hosts were absolutely amazing and go out of their way to accommodate their guests. The property is very close to town so you can walk everywhere, we even walked to a wine farm. Safe to say that we will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely house! The location is perfect- on a small , calm street, 3 minutes walk from Porta San Giovanni. There is a well stocked supermarket on the same distance. There is free parking in the yard. The garden is like a temple of colors and freshness - full with daisies, flowers and lemon trees! The room was spotless clean! Rustic and authentic elements and modern details at the same time. Bed was super comfy! They offer breakfast, which we didn't try, but I saw it ! Don't make my mistake- have a breakfast! It is so rich, fresh and looks great! You can have also coffee, cappuccino or wine during the day. In the morning, when you step in the fresh garden, first you hear the birds, then you feel the gentle wind and in the end you see the mighty towers of San Gimignano in all of its glory!!! Breathtaking and unforgettable view! And the most important - the Host! Francesca welcomed us as we were old friends! Il Fienile lives up to ALL the fabulous reviews--it's everything you dream of when you stay in Tuscany! Family owned and operated, it's a spectacular place just steps away from San Gemignano, parking on site, wonderful breakfast and coffee and you feel like family. Francesca and Mauro are the most hospitable hosts you will ever encounter. The breakfast is different every morning with fresh ingredients from their garden. Easy drive to Siena and Florence and they give you wonderful recommendations. I wish we could have stayed longer. Great value and spectacular stay!

The location and view were amazing and a short walk to the Port entrance. The family was incredibly nice and charming. Francesca and Mauro made us feel as though we were staying with family.

It is not often one gives 10 when ranking the room. Here, it definitely should be 10 :) Very nice owner, magnificient view on San Gimignano from the garden where the breakfast is served. The breakfast is not just a breakfast - variety of rolls, cakes, yoghurt - most of them home made. As usual in Italy - very good coffee. Very close, walking distance to the city. The owner recommended us a trattoria in San Gimignano and it was really worth the price we paid there. All over - no single item to complain :)

It is nothing bad but when searching the location using Google maps it's a bit misleading. One should drive down the road approx. 200 meters even though the navigation claims you are just in front of the house :)

One of the rare ocasions where we couldn't find anything to complain we tried. Not that anyone would want to try as Francesca and Mauro give there everything to be the perfect hosts. They were always available for recommendations, requests or just a friendly chat and make you feel like home. The view from the garden on the valley and St Gimignano is outstanding.
