Lovely home. Well stocked kitchen . Great playroom; toys and games for all ages! An added bonus: A bird feeder is set up in a central location, allowing views of chipmunks, squirrels and of course, all different beautiful birds from many windows of the house; a wonderful treat for all! The whole family hopes to return to The River House next summer!

This house was amazing. The host has thought of everything, and it was fully stocked and then some. The house is set beautifully on the River with a dock that made kayaking delightful. Unfortunately there were an abundance of ticks outside, which made it difficult to dine comfortably on the outdoor patio. It is a very large, spacious home, so worked perfectly for our family of 10.

Family trip to celebrate a member’s 49th birthday. Loved the bikes, paddle boards and kayaks, Kitchen was good for family meals. Loved the game room and outside games. Great place.

River House house is, in a word, extraordinary. My wife and I recently spent four days at the property, along with four other couples, to celebrate my milestone birthday. The home and its setting could not have been more perfect for the occasion . River House is gorgeous and beautifully (and abundantly) appointed, with detailed touches that rival the most luxurious of hotels. The home easily accommodated the 10 of us and we especially enjoyed the game room (so much fun), wide open kitchen, and outdoor spaces. Our hostess and River House owner, Joanne LaPoint, was as helpful and lovely as can be leading up to our arrival, and her note welcoming us to her home was much appreciated. As for location, River House is perfectly situated in what seems to be a secluded forest, on the bank of a river, yet just minutes away from the sights (and flavors) of Kennebunkport. I can go on and on, but suffice to say … if you have the opportunity to vacation at River House, jump on it!

River House property is simply paradise. JoAnn’s home is wonderful and the grounds, patio, dock and the long list of activities provide the perfect getaway destination. All within a bike ride of downtown Kennebunkport.

Great property with tons of natural light in the sunroom and ample activities in the basement game room! While the didn’t get the best weather, we did get to enjoy the dock, canoes, and bikes as well, which are a very convenient and fun way to access the nearby town! JoAnn was a very responsive and accommodating host and we would certainly stay again!

I cannot thank JoAnn enough for her incredible hospitality. The property is not only exceptional but it really felt like a home -- so warm and inviting. Our family spanned from 16-82 and for all it hit all the high notes! We have come back to NYC dreaming about the pantry, the sunroom and the gorgeous master suite. Highly recommended!

My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the River House for a fall getaway. The home and property is gorgeous and the view of the river is breathtaking. We loved enjoying a glass of wine on the patio at sunset. The house is well stocked and has everything you need. The location of this home can't be beat since it's only a few miles from town. The host is wonderful and was very welcoming. We can't wait to go back.

This property is absolutely perfect for a group stay. The house and grounds are stunning and the home has absolutely everything! Our favorite experience was sitting on the lovely Adirondack chairs and looking at the river close to sunset. Wonderful! We loved staying there and we were so sad to leave. The host answered all of our questions and made us very comfortable. Hope to be back next year!

We had a wonderful stay at the RIVER HOUSE in Kennebunk. The house was fabulous and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay - We loved cooking meals in the spacious kitchen so much we only went out to dinner once for fish. Also, the location couldn't be any better - literally a few miles to the town of Kennebunkport and no more than 15 minutes to beautiful Goose Rocks Beach. The outdoor bluestone patio was a favorite spot for morning coffee or happy hour around the fire pit. We used the paddle boards, bikes and on a few rainy days had some competitive ping pong and scrabble games in the game room. We spent half of our time enjoying the house and the other half of the time visiting some fun spots in the area (St. Anne's Church, Walker's Point, The Portland Lighthouse, Frinklepod Farm and Snug Harbor Farm) or enjoying cocktails out at The White Barn, the Tides Beach Club and Batson River. I would highly recommend two weeks at this property. - we were so sorry we had to leave! Other recommendations ... Auntie's House Bakery for whoopie balls, Talula's Market for takeout appetizers and the Lobster Schack at Two Lights (byob) - with spectacular views of the Ocean. @finishingtouches84

We are a group of seasoned travelers from GA, who decided to re-visit Kennebunkport to celebrate birthdays. We are blessed to be able to enjoy such trips, and feel so fortunate to have stayed in this lovely home. It was perfect in every way, and the fishing off the dock was just icing on the cake. Beautiful home on a river with lots of great amenities. Home is fully stocked with anything you could want! Kids and adults alike loved relaxing on the well appointed patio, floating dock and tidal river.

Wonderful home with lots of space for family or friends. Close to shopping/restaurants and day trips. But could easily just stay on the property and enjoy the view and peacefulness! You will not be disappointed if you book this lovely home! ❤️

Joann’s property is perfect for a family get together. Plenty of bedrooms and wonderful bathrooms make this an easy choice. The game room is a great place for fun as is the dock for water sports. Couldn’t be happier with this choice and think the whole family agrees from the oldest adults to youngest child. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at River House. It's a beautiful high end property in a truly serene setting. Everything you could need for a great stay at the house is there. We were so happy to be able to bring out dog along and just enjoy family time together.

This is a fabulous property that provides an authentic luxurious New England experience. The owners are available and responsive to anything you might need. It was a magical time where none of us wanted to leave!

This was by far our best stay in Maine. The house was even better than it showed on the website. The owner was extremely helpful with our questions (of which there were few). We will definitely be back again!!
