We loved our time here and found it very relaxing. The beach is just a short walk and the stretch of it by the house was very isolated. We enjoyed both of the pools. We liked being further away from the city and it was a very quiet area. The house itself had some maintenance issues. We couldn’t use one of the bathrooms from the time we checked in on Saturday until late Tuesday morning (toilet lever broken and could only be flushed by reaching in the tank and pulling the chain, shower drain extremely backed up). Easter Sunday was that weekend, so it could be why it took awhile for repairs, but they were handled. I’m surprised those weren’t reported/fixed before our stay because they were like that immediately upon our arrival. Also, the outlets didn’t work in at least two bathrooms and jacuzzi jets don’t work in master bath. It’s not as pristine in some places we’ve stayed in, but it’s a beach house and we had kids with us, so it didn’t bother us much. Overall, we had a great time and had enough space for our two families to spread out!

Although we attend the rally every year, this was our first time to stay here. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The neighborhood is wonderful, and so is the house. We had everything we needed, and the owners absolutely went above and beyond to ensure our stay was a great experience. I even left a personal item at the house after our stay ended, and they retrieved it for us and worked with us and made sure we got it back. We will definitely book with them again. It was a pleasure!!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Monkey Sea, Monkey Dune. The home is spacious and well appointed with just about everything you could possibly need while on vacation. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and relaxing in the hammock. The beach is a short walk away and so peaceful. The hosts are fantastic — super communicative and helpful. Thanks for the memories. It was a trip to remember!

We loved our week at Monkey Sea Monkey Dunes. Beach access was so convenient and very nice beach. The house was equipped with most of the beachy things we needed. The house had all of the amenities for a baby, cooking, and grilling. The host went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great.
Only downside was the bugs were so bad that we didn’t get to use the lower outside patio space.

We loved our stay. The house was great and in a perfect spot. It was quiet and relaxing. Kids loved the beach and the pool area. Took a couple trips into Houston while we were there for the zoo and the Astros game. The whole family loved both. Couldn’t be happier with our stay thank you.

Close proximity to the beach. Comfortable. 2 Outside decks face west, so the sun and the heat made it uncomfortable to enjoy in the afternoon and evening.
The house was spacious enough to accommodate us. Each bedroom had its own bathroom! That was a plus, in addition to the outside shower that we took advantage of. It was especially helpful for the kids when we came in from the beach!
The neighborhood was quiet and safe.
The downstairs patio was inundated with flies that prevented any eating at the picnic table. Probably due to the proximity of the trash cans. I’m not sure why they were so prevalent. There was no food or open containers in the vicinity.
Overall a nice property! Beautiful setting!

We had a great week at the beach in this house. We had relatives in town, so we were 3 couples plus kids, so the bunk bed room was a big hit for the cousins to have a slumber party. Big balconies overlooking the pond and just a short walk to the beach — this was our 2nd stay at the house and we will definitely come back!

A little off the main drag but great beach access.
Surface clean but cleaning crew needs to do a deep clean....fans, vents, garbage can, move furniture to vacuum, base boards ect.

What we loved most about this property was the 4 bedrooms/ 4 baths which worked perfectly for our family. The kitchen had plenty of room and supplies. We loved the large dining room table which fit all 10 of us. There were plenty of tvs if needed. We spent most of our time outdoors making s’mores on the wood pit provided. And the AC worked great in July and no issue with having enough hot water. We loved having carpet in there too and the outdoor shower to rinse off. The owner checked in regularly to make sure we had what we needed. It was the best place we stayed in at Pointe West over the past few years.

There were some issues initially but owners responded promptly to resolve. We all enjoyed our stay. 4 bedrooms and 4 baths worked out perfectly for our group of 10. Very close to beach access.

We loved the property and location. Everything was as described except for the pic of what was in the outside beach closet. The blue wagon to tote beach chairs and belongings to beach was broken. Had we known, we would have brought our own to make the beach trips easier as we had two toddlers with us. Also, the beach umbrella was broken as well. We ended up buying two new ones and leaving them there in the closet for future guests. Another minor thing is the pots and pans need to be replaced. They are very worn and look hazardous for cooking use. We did appreciate the baby essentials that were available! The baby gate, crib, & high chair helped us tremendously! The proximity to the beach was very nice & we loved the pool at the Pointe West resort. Overall, we had a great stay and will definitely return!

We had a group of 8 aging from 7 to 87 and all enjoyed the stay. We went when it was a bit chilly for the beach in early April, if you do so DEFINITELY get a cart rental to get to the heated pools and hot tubs, etc (which were great!), as it is some distance from those, but that was well known before we got there (and we made great use of our cart).

We had a great week but house needs some attention. Felt pictures on VRBO were not current. House was fine but a/c could not keep up and is old and keeps whoever is in master bedroom up all night. 3rd floor balcony door would not stay closed unless dead bolted. Front bedroom balcony bedroom door unopenable. Fridge filter needed changing. Dryer needed to run two cycles to dry. Couch has major wear and some tears. No pizza cutter or can opener. Several Outdoor plastic Adirondack chairs were cracked. No smoke detector in master bedroom. When unplugging things, some sockets were loose. Owners were great. We really had no issues. My comments were just things noticed-thought maybe no one has mentioned prior.

We enjoyed our stay at Monkey Sea Monkey Dune! The location is fantastic and the house is charming and a great relaxing space. The owners are hospitable and welcoming, with a “make yourself at home” attitude in the property guidelines. There were a couple of maintenance issues we experienced, but nothing that put a damper on our stay. Just normal wear and tear things. I relayed the issues to the owner who was very responsive and offered to send a handyman out to make things right. They even went as far as to offer an additional night since no one was booked after us. We’re just disappointed we couldn’t take them up on their generous offer!!

Our family of 4 met up with our close friends who recently moved to TX (family of 5). The space was perfect for our families--plenty of space for everyone, clean and nice, but not so fancy that we were constantly worrying that our kids would break or ruin something (ages 5-9). Proximity to the beach was excellent (very short walk) and we loved being able to both see and hear the ocean from the front of the house, the provided amenities were just what we needed (kitchen supplies, towels, beach chairs and toys, etc) so we didn't have to pack so much coming from out of state, and the resort's heated pool hot tub was just perfect since the days we were there had slightly cooler weather (in the 60s and lower 70s). It was just what we were looking for!

Had 5 adults and 2 small kids head to the beach for the weekend. Property was very nice and clean. Area was a little ways out of town and therefore very quiet. Very quick walk to the beach for kite flying and shell collecting. House had all of the amenities and was perfect. Would recommend

We came for a wedding. Didn't realize how far it was from the church, but it worked out because kids slept in the car. Kinda werid that there was no toaster and the wrong coffee filters, but that is nit picky stuff that shouldn't effect the rating in my opinion. Very close to the beach and all the folks with me had a great time. We would stay here again if we went to Galveston in future.

The owners communicate very well. We had 9 total. 8 of us are 15+ and only one 9 year old. Not once did we find it too tight. The lay out is perfect. I will book this place every time!
