We absolutely loved this small hotel. It’s perfectly placed in Ortigia for everything. It has beautiful rooms. We had a large terrace overlooking the sea and views of Etna. The bed was super comfy with lovely soft sheets. The room was clean and the shower worked well. Nothing to complain about. The staff were especially helpful in every way. The breakfast was typically Italian with nice cakes and croissants fruit and ham and cheese etc.

Beautiful hotel, right in the center of Ortigia! So close to the sights and restaurants, as well as 5-10 minute walk to the ocean views. Everyone we interacted with from the hotel was so helpful, and the room we got on the top floor was very comfortable with a balcony that was perfect to watch sunsets! We also had a rental car and they helped make that stress-free with the valet service option they arranged as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely 4 night stay in hotel Gilisto, room was delightfully quirky, first time we have had a full size pool table in our room. Breakfast was substantial and yummy. Hotel right in the heart of the action in Ortega. Don’t hesitate to book.

The location was fantastic, in the heart of Ortigia with a secure front door and someone at the front desk 24 hours. The breakfast was fantastic, the rooms a great size and very comfortable but what really made this property stand out was the customer service - so friendly and helpful, would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Beautifully restored and renovated boutique hotel in the heart of Ortigia. Our room was spacious with separate living area and balconies overlooking the streets. The reception and hospitality staff were very friendly and helpful. Large choice of Restaurants nearby. 20 euro taxi from railway station. Excellent !

Everything was excellent, but don’t expect to go to bed early. The people there party late into the night.. Otherwise, the hotel was fantastic.

This is the BEST place to stay in the old town !! Center location, close to everything. Huge rooms with great roof terrace . People working here are helpful with beach and restaurant recommendations. Very good breakfast.

Our two hosts were amazing. They were thoughtful in trying to help us with transportation and things to do in ortigia. Clean. Location is in the thick of it.

We loved our stay! The staff and owner were so helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and our room was clean and comfortable. It was in a great area of the city and we could walk to everything we wanted to see. We had a sea facing room and it was nice to sit out on the balcony in the evening. We would stay again!

When they say ‘people’ make the difference this hotel is a perfect example! Extra friendly team made our stay in Ortigia great. Receptionists and breakfast buffet team were excellent! Rooms were very clean too! Only downside: the bar next to the hotel is lively until late, other than that, all super! Grazie mille ragazze

In Syracusa - - Ortigia, a lovely small hotel with a warm friendly staff, so helpful, that makes a fun place even better. Right in the midst of the main backstreet - walking corridor, you can exit the Pallazo and go to the Duomo, Arethusa's oasis, and the Diana fountain... All within steps. Delightful visit in every way.

In Syracusa - - Ortigia, a lovely small hotel with a warm friendly staff, so helpful, that makes a fun place even better. Right in the midst of the main backstreet - walking corridor, you can exit the Pallazo and go to the Duomo, Arethusa's oasis, and the Diana fountain... All within steps. Breakfast was delicious. Palazzo Gilistro is in the perfect central location, just a few minutes walk from the Cathedral of Syracuse with an abudance of restaurants, shops and bars all in walking distance. Despite it being in the centre of town, our room was up high above the hustle and bustle and was lovely and quiet for bed time! If we had one suggestion, It would be to make better use of the great communal roof terrace - a bar up there would be perfect! We will definitely recommend Palazzo Gilistro to our friends and family and would love to return one day!
