For the price $1100/night, it was absolutely an awful experience. The AC was not turned on when we walked into the room, outside temp was 34! Within minutes, we had mosquitoes bites (at least 6 on each guest) in the room. The room is tiny for 3 ppl. We could not use the outside tube as there were more mosquitoes outside. When we were having breakfast the next morning, the waitress killed a mosquito with her own hands while she was explaining the food to us.

It’s in a residential neighborhood so there’s not a lot of dining options. There’s a bus station that can take you to Kyoto station. The hotel offers breakfast. The room has two floors, so going up and down is inconvenient. The stairs are also steep so have to be extra careful when going up and down.

Safe and quiet location. Beautiful property and feels very relaxing and part of old town. Staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Thank you for a wonderful stay in beautiful Kyoto.

She accommodated all of our needs, gave great recommendations, and ensured that we were more than satisfied with our stay at the ryokan. Love how you get greeted with a welcome tea and cookie upon arrival and every evening they give a very tasty egg sandwich snack. Worth it for the experience.
