The main building with view rooms was great But the other building where the most rooms where was disappointed over all. No value for money. The pool was great. The food under the level. We also eat one evening in the Michelin Star hotel. It was from the food side a total disappointment and much to exepensive. Wenn you pay more than 600€ for a night and they asked 5€ for a soft drink I have my questions. Then I feel it is only about money and not about the core business. And we eat at an other recommended restaurant who become in 2025 a Michelin star and the food was great and the price more than 50% cheaper.

The service and quality of this hotel is incredible. I would recommend Bela Vista to anyone who wants a true 5-star experience. I can’t wait to come back. Better than many of the 5-star hotels I’ve stayed at around the US.

No sure how this place got its 5 star or maybe its been paying to retain it since 1881 since the conditions of these hotel rooms would suggest that was when it was last renovated, or even cleaned.
Upon arrival, you are met with a bombarding strip of drunk loud tourists which the hotel imagines you’ll leave behind once they close an open bared gate. Dont let that fool you, drum and bass are still banging through well into your confined jail cell. 350sq ft has miraculously translated to 200sq ft here at Bela Vista.
It makes sense why they dont issue refunds, without the blown out lighting and what I’d assume is facetune for the hospitality challenged, all guest will be rushing out the door when they lay down for a goods night rest only to be met with stains on their pillows.
10/10 would not recommend

And, a haven from the craziness of the street on the other side of the elegant gates. The breakfast bar is extraordinary. Staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. I rarely say this, as the world is big, but we will be back.

We loved our stay at Bela Vista! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable from the second we arrived. We absolutely LOVED the daily breakfast, pool facilities, and Vista Restaurant - this was the best meal we’ve ever had in our lives!

Portimão itself is perhaps a little more touristy than other cities in the Algarve, but Bela Vista felt like an oasis away from this. Excellent Service from all the staff. At the price we expect Four Seasons esk service and we got this. Major issue was NO HOT WATER FOR 3 DAYS. Luke warm water. This must have been an on going issue and we were kindly given a room night complementary.

Property was lovely as was most of the staff. I had an unfortunate experience as because I booked through Travelocity instead of direct that I was made to feel from a male staff receptionist that I was not important.
A second booking for my son did not get through (my fault). When my son booked the hotel across the street I was told the would not accommodate him as my guest. Very glad that his name was on my room instead.
Bottom line book directly with this hotel.

Bela Vista is a stunning property. And not just the views and stellar condition of the hotel but the entire team from Gonzalo to the front desk to the restaurant to the amazing spa team - everyone is incredible. They make you feel immediately at home when you arrive. My room felt like the perfect beach getaway with ocean views, a patio, comfortable bed and towels for the beach. The pool is gorgeous with beautiful chairs and cabanas. I enjoyed morning cappuccinos and afternoon pina coladas poolside while pleasant music played. I overheard the property was booked but it never once felt crowded. The entire staff does an amazing job having this property stand out even checking in prior to my arrival. The spa services are so relaxing. And Vista was the best restaurant I frequented in all of Portugal. I cannot wait to return.

The location and the beautiful artwork of the building was lovely. The dining room staff and the house cleaners were all so kind and helpful, which we loved. The beach was right there, but I anticipated not having to pay for a beach chair as a part of my hotel stay. What really bothered us was the night we flew in; we couldn't locate the transportation service the hotel provided and had to take a taxi. We then travelled to the hotel and were met by the concierge who seemed annoyed with us even though we waited and asked around for our driver. I asked if I could possibly get my money back and was treated rudely. We were then told we couldn't get a tour because it was too late (we never got the tour, nor were we asking at the time). It was kind of a bummer because this was the last leg of our journey. All the other hotels in Germany and Spain were so so so friendly and this one felt a bit snobby and stiff.

Unfortunately I could not give this hotel 5 stars due to the location of the hotel and the pictures of the hotel on their website are quite misleading. The hotel spa is not free to use for guests and the hotel charge for parking in the hotel grounds €15 per day. However the staff were fantastic and breakfast was also excellent

Beautiful locale above the beach with well appointed pool and dining terrace. Staff was very attentive and helpful and ocean and garden views from room were gorgeous though rooms are a bit small for deluxe style. The hotel is located in a busy beach town with a huge beach and many stunningly beautiful beaches in the area
