There are amenities necessary and special (face pack, eye pack) and everything was placed in the right spot!! Green tea and roasted black soybean coffee were great.
The hotel is at very convenient location.
Only challenge was that it was a bit hard to control the room temperature. It was not necessary to use AC, but the room were getting warm during the night.

They definitely had a lot of switches for all the accessories and lights for the room but that’s how much each room has in terms of amenities and convenience. The location couldn’t be any better in Kyoto and the staff was great. They even helped me get a reservation at a restaurant that I wanted to visit. A+++

It’s walkable to all spots which includes restaurants and the train station is only a 5 mins walk.

We loved Hotel ALZA KYOTO. It was spacious, comfortable and clean. They were very accommodating when we were delayed a day. I highly recommend this hotel!

The thermostat automatically readjusts to 26 Celcius after a few hours. This wasn't very pleasant since it was sweltering and humid in Osaka and every night I would wake up sweaty and have to get up and bump it back down to 24 degrees. The nightly rate here wasn't cheap and I'm annoyed I couldn't control the room temperature where I needed it.

A very nice hotel right by the river and very close to Gion and Nishiki market. Rooms are big with really nice river view. excellent bathroom and separate toilet. no restaurant but the hotel owner provides ready made western or japanese breakfast either in the room or downstairs separate eating area. Very attentive and friendly staff. Having travelled around the world and having top tiers in many hotel reservation frequent traveller programs i can say that this hotel is among the top. In the future when visiting Kyoto I will stay here.

Hotel Alza Kyoto was such a charming hotel with charming and extremely helpful and accommodating staff. I loved the feel of a small the hotel with only about 20 rooms. It overlooks Kamo River which makes for such a great stroll, jog, or bike ride, along with a beautiful view! I enjoyed the location as it was a few minutes walk from a major train station and within a reasonable walking distance to most of the other typical Gion destinations, though it was not right in the middle of all the bustle. I do hope I make it back to Kyoto again, and I would absolutely look to stay here again if I do!

The room was spacious, with a nice table and chairs and counter space. Our room had a balcony overlooking the river. The shower was nice with a luxurious deep soaking tub and a mounted TV above the tub! Easily one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.
