As a single traveller I was given a very small room. Adequate, but only about 10ft x 10ft. There was an en-suite shower room. Again quite small. I also thought it was a bit expensive considering the size of the room and the Netley's location. Parking could be a big problem if the place was full, since a maximum of 4 cars can use the off road parking. Otherwise its street parking. This is not really a Hotel and could do with some modernising. Particularly common area lighting and modern sockets with USB connection. Mike was helpful, but I don't think he fully understood the danger of locking guests in with a mortice lock, on the entrance door, with instructions for guests to also do this. This is particularly dangerous, in the event of a fire, when the last thing on your mind is trying to find keys, to exit quickly. He has promised to address this issue ASAP. I felt very uncomfortable with this situation as it is, particularly since I suffered badly, in a Hotel fire in Chicago, with locked fire escapes, some years ago.

Breakfast was excellent with all options available, Mike cannot do enough for you and we especially loved the fruit compote each morning. We used Torquay as a base to explore the South Devon area, loads of things to do, however if holidaying in peak season booking for restaurants is essential as the town gets extremely busy. Overall a wonderful stay with lovely hosts.

Lovely family room. We and our 7 year granddaughter loved our stay. The guest house is beautifully decorated, breakfast was lovely, mattress in our room was 1st class. Very good location, short walk to the sea front, will definitely be back. Mike & Angie we’re excellent hosts.

Our stay was fantastic, the hosts Mike and ......were very welcoming with a coffee and biscuits upon arrival. Our room was clean and of a high standard, no complaints at all. You are free to come and go as you please, and there are travel brochures with things to see and do at the entrance.

The Netley ticks all the right boxes so it a perfect place to stay in Torbay, but the best thing about it is that it is so much more than a hotel, it is a home from home. Mike and Angie the owners really welcome you into their home and this makes it an absolute joy to stay here! I have visited at least 6 times and each time has been fabulous. The cooked breakfasts are delicious too!

I had a fabulous stay at the Netley. Mike and Angie who run it were very friendly and helpful and my room was very comfortable and had everything I needed for a lovely break. The breakfasts were delicious too! All in all a perfect stay! I hope to return again soon!

I cannot rate this B&B highly enough. From the moment we booked we were made to feel welcome. Room was large, very clean, bright, airy and beautifully made up and presented. Breakfasts were plentiful, home made and fresh with lots of choice. The owners, Angie and Mike really do make the place extra special though; they were so helpful and friendly and could not do enough for us. My husband, our 11 year old and I will be returning here on our next visit to Torquay. This has got to be up there in one of the best small B&Bs in Torquay. The main problem is that on arrival I was told breakfast was 8.30 to 9.00 with not offer of any flexibility, that's not really good enough these days (and you have to specify what you want the evening before). The wifi was not that good either, I had to go out on the landing to pick up the network.

Lovely friendly hosts,nothing was too much trouble. I have soya milk instead of dairy and redbush t bags and was given a steady supply in my room- no other place i have stayed have done that for me. We were also supplied with a map on arrival to show us how to get to the shops or the beach/esplanade area. A short walk through abbey gardens takes you to the beach. Buses can be caught on esplanade and train station very close.

Me and my husband went for a weekend break we arrived early and were welcomed by a lovely couple who let us book in straight away. We had a lovely comfortable room and nothing was too much trouble. Amazing place we will return.
