Millers Cottage is a charming, cosy and stylish 19th century cottage perfectly located right in the heart of the old city on the historic Mill Lane. Newly refurbished to a high standard blending vintage features with modern style and comfort.

Located on the lovely and historic Mill Lane, a quiet street right in the heart of Canterbury's old city just minutes to the cathedral and a short stroll from some of Canterbury's best bars, eateries and galleries. At the top of the lane and less than a minutes walk is the wonderful Abbots Mill gardens on the banks of the river Stour. FREE parking provided for the entire length of your stay.
As you step inside Millers Cottage, a cosy living room welcomes you. Fully refurbished to a very high standard, with a luxury feel, there is a lovely log electric log burner style fire, 43-inch SMART TV (displays art when on standby), SONOS music system and plenty of space to sit down and relax. The décor blends 19th century Victorian features with modern style.
BED CONFIGURATION:
Bedroom 1: King Bed (Brand new hybrid mattress)
Bedroom 2: 2 Single beds. (Brand new Orthopaedic mattresses)
Please note these are slightly narrower than a standard single (15cm narrower) but are still very comfortable for adults as well as younger guests.
Travel Cot with Mattress (please note we do not provide sheets or bedding for this)
KITCHEN/COOKING FACILITIES:
The kitchen is equipped with all the essentials needed to cook your favourite meals whilst in Canterbury. There is an gas hob, electric oven, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster & washing/dryer machine. Nespresso coffee machine with coffee provided. The kitchen opens onto our private cottage garden.
DINING AREAS:
The dining table comfortable seats 4 people (up to 6) and is ideal for a sit-down meal in the evening. The lovely wooden table is located in the open plan kitchen area.
BATHROOMS/TOILET:
There is 1 bathroom at the property on the first floor, with a toilet and good size shower. Complimentary shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided for your use.
PRIVATE GARDEN:
We have a lovely cottage garden with a sofa, deckchairs, garden bench and a large outdoor dining table. You can hear the Cathedral bells from the garden.
WORKSPACE:
A drop down desk dedicated workspace is provided, located in the master bedroom.
FAMILY FEATURES:
We have a travel cot with mattress for your use - please bring sheets as these are not provided.
ACCESSABILITY
Our cottage and Canterbury is a wonderful place to stay for all generations. However, please note that as it is an older cottage the stairs are fairly narrow, fairly steep and have a tight bend. Please take care when using them. With regret, due to the age of the property and that it is within the Cathedral conservation area, we are unable to make sufficient changes to the property to make it fully accessible and it would not be suitable for those with significant mobility issues.
If you are in any doubt and would like more information about the property then please do give us a call or message us and will be very happy to try to help.
RULES:
*This property is not suitable for parties! This is a breach of house rules & will result in immediate removal from the property and no refund. We may also charge additional costs . Not professional photography or filming is allowed. This house is in a quiet area, so after 9pm the quiet times are to be respected.
*We have a strict NO-SMOKING indoors policy at our properties.
VERIFICATION / DEPOSIT:
We require a third party verification of our guests identity (provision of a government-issued photo ID) and a card pre-authorisation of £150 for potential damage, loss or lack of adherence to our house rules.
We will not charge an amount from the £150, unless upon checkout there is evidence of unreasonable damage, loss or lack of adherence to the rules. We will always discuss this with the guest first. Guest verification and card pre authorisation will be completed via a fully secure third party provider.
ADDITIONAL CLEANING POLICY
To ensure guest satisfaction we require additional cleans for all stays of 11 nights + and every 10 days thereafter. During the clean the house will be fully cleaned, all consumables restocked and the towels/sheets will be changed.
