The location is great, not too far at all from the Viswa Bharti University. The neighbour, who is the landlord's brother too and key holder was kind enough to return home from their trip out, was apologetic and invited us in for a cup of tea, which i thought was very kind.

It seems like the hosts weren't expecting us, eventhough I had a confirmed booking and had emailed them earlier in the day that we would be there by the evening, there was no one at the property to let us in. I couldn't give an exact time of arrival, as we were stopping at places enroute, but I hadn't realised that they wouldn't have been expecting us at all. I was told that they weren't sure if we were actually coming or not. However from my perspective, as I had a confirmed booking, I would definitely been there. There hadn't been any communication prior to that asking us to reconfirm the booking. It would have been great if there was some information kept within the property of how best to see Shantiniketan, opening times, tuk tuks, where to find food etc. I believe it would he extremely useful and wouldn't have to keep contacting the host by what's app. It was a bit dusty, the bathroom and the furniture in the room, maybe this was because they thought we weren't coming. There are a number of house helpers, which are there to make the stay more comfortable, would be great if they could make a cup of hot Indian tea in the morning. We ordered food from the hosts daughter for dinner and brekkie. Dinner was good, simple meal but was decent none the less. Breakfast, if you do go for the continental, maybe ask them not to put sugar on the bread or jam. We didn't realise it would come as such, so we just scraped as much as possible off. I think it could have been great, but it's shame our experience wasn't the best.

The location and the lovely terrace with private room was great.

Food offered needs improvement; the fridge was stinking which made sitting in the dining area for meals extremely unpleasant. Overall it was disappointing, we read about a homely environment, good food and with the host available but instead felt little alienating and less value for money.

Calmness of the place is remarkable. I liked its serenity within nature. Aesthetic of rooms and adjacent places is amazing and everyone would like to spend hours and hours in terrace and enjoying moments with oneself. This is place for those if someone practices music and want to do their riyaj.

Food was good ..good to stay more than ones..

This home stay didn't have the arrangement of food and hence one will have to rely on going out or have zomato / swiggy. Rest all are good here specially the location (of course if you like it in a little isolated, calm and peaceful area). I stayed here for a night with my family and I loved the place.

The ambience and the warmth of nayantara homestay is spending.Mr Nandi and his extended family always took care of all sort of our needs. We had a baby on board and Mr Nandi and all the house helpers made it sure that the Lil one should have the best time over there. The silent and green environment really helped us to come closer to the mother nature. The homestay locates in one of the prominent area in shantiniketan and also have houses of may stalwarts as neighbour (Dwijen Mukherjee, konika Banerjee, Aparna Sen and many more). Best part is in this house Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar ji has performed and you can feel chills while you see the picture of that performance inside the house. The beds were super cosy, bathrooms were neat and tidy. The interior of the house reflects the elegance and the cultural taste of the owner and also reflects the core essence of Shantiniketan. Mr Nandi also arranges foods as per the requirement of the guests and mark my words, the foods were devine. I would strongly recommend nayantara for homestay at shantiniketan and am also planning stay there with a bigger family groups
