Very old building but renovated. Breakfast was a disaster there was a huge line and there was not enough food for everybody, no coffee. The staff took very long time to refill the buffet with low quality budget foods.

Upon checkin, we were told the pool was closed even though, as you can see from the picture, booking.com shows it is open. Other guests checking in at the same time had similar complaints. The front desk staff told us, we do not care what other sites say, we have a paper saying it's closed. We would have stayed somewhere else, cheaper, had we known. The front desk staff continued their rude behavior during the rest of our stay, except Sunday. The room was left at 97 degrees, the door was left ajar because it didn't shut properly unless it was slammed shut. Saturday, after servicing the room, the housekeeper again left it ajar, this time with our personal property in it. Upon returning to the property, we went to park in a handicap spot, which we have a placard for, and saw employees sitting in the car conversing. No placard in site and the car was running. When approaching the vehicle, the driver waved a placard at me and we drove around to the other side of the building, to a spot not dug out from snowfall, only to watch the employee leave the property. Upon approaching front desk about their employees using handicap spots to have conversations, they offered no apologies and didn't seem to care at all. We have no desire to stay at this hotel again. Rudest staff ever. Called and spoke with the Front desk manager. She asked me what she was supposed to do other than give me a discount on a future stay. I stated that I had no interest in a future stay, I had stated that alot. I was just trying to get the staff to treat guests better and she hung up in the middle of me talking. That explains why the front desk staff is so rude to guests when their supervisor shows them how to act.

They place an unadvertised $200 hold on you account for 5-10 days because they don’t seem to care that this is hard for many people. (could just get a card # without initiating a hold and charge if warranted.) some amenities closed for repairs but not noted on the property or Booking.com website. desk attendant cancelled my reservation (by accident?) when I questioned the hood in my card for up to TWO WEEKS, and then charged me again for a room, so I got double dipped. then she charged my bank card for the two week hold instead of the credit card I gave her for the purpose (be sure to not use you Apple Master Card, because their card readers don’t work and they will not accept your Apple CREDIT CARD)

Room was great, Breakfast was great. Location close to many Fairbanks sponsored activities. Elevator was out this trip, but nothing too greatly impacted by needing to use stairs. (Only 2 floors above Main Lobby)

Hotel advertised a hot tub on the website, but no hot tub upon arrival. There was also no advance notice given that the pool would be closed for approximately 4 weeks. Signs were posted saying there would be construction noise 9am-9pm, but our room (126) was right next to the mechanical room, and on Sunday 11/13, drilling/sawing began before 8am.

The fact that hotel was being renovated and nothing about that was on the web site!! Co2 detector laying on desk didn't give me a very secure feeling!!

We called hotle and they arranged for us to be picked up at train station, The staff were so nice! We wanted to try to see Aurora from Hotel, so they loaned us a little lantern to go outside.

Comfortable clean hotel. Had a good breakfast. The staff were very polite and helpful. They made a suggestion for a restaurant to celebrate my birthday which was very good...
