I LOVED this place! I was here two weeks before Christmas in 2024. For me, it was exactly what I was looking for: a place with immediate access to ocean swimming so that I could do lap swimming before and after work. This place was *ideal* for that. The little beach they have is kept relatively clean from seaweed . I swam everyday, twice a day while I was here. In addition, the 8 rooms that are built right on the docks are unique design providing all the ingredients for the quintessential the Florida Keys experience: Pelicans that almost land on your balcony, a magnificent view of turquoise water, the sound of waves lapping the docks lulling you to sleep at night. The view of the blue water from the hotel room sliding glass door was a spirit-lifting sight to wake up to every morning. (Exactly what I needed to recover from the gray of Seattle). I kept thinking of those pictures you see of Bora Bora hotels where guest stay in their own private collage surrounded by acres of blue water. That is the feeling from the Edgewater's 8 rooms facing the ocean. The owners did a magnificent thing here. It is a unique experience to stay in those rooms. Like living in a postcard. The hotel provided outstanding WIFI which enabled me to do my remote work from home job (daily video meetings using Microsoft Teams) from the hotel room while looking at that beautiful turquoise water. My second week in the keys I stayed in a more expensive hotel, but I preferred the Edgewater. Here at the Edgewater I felt I had more privacy and more peace and quiet. The grounds have great little restaurant which will pretty much cook you anything: grouper, yellowtail and mahi, mahi fish sandwiches, pizza's, pork sandwiches, salads, etc. Additionally, this hotel is the last property on Long Key (I think it's Long Key) before the bridge. So there is a very good view south, and peace and quiet. I hope to do more trips to the Keys and this will definitely be on my list of places to stay again.

Really nothing. I liked everything. For me it was perfect. It is a little difficult everywhere in the Keys to get completely away from the road noise, but I only heard it at the Edgewater if the wind was blowing a certain way. There was an older dresser in my room in the corner by the microwave which could have used a paint job, but this was nothing. There was a lovely table ergonomically perfect for computer work and eating. I thought it was curious that there was no screen on the sliding glass door, but I slept with the door wide open all night and there were no bugs. I also slept on the outdoor sofa part of one night looking at the stars. It's possible in a completely full hotel there could be some noise outside on the decks from the neighbors. I would prefer the 8 rooms on the docks to the rooms in a separate building behind the the dock rooms. The 2nd story rooms above the hotel office could be good too, although you would not have the outstanding balcony of the dock rooms.

Die Lodge befindet sich direkt am Wasser und bietet von einigen, so auch unserem Zimmer, eine tolle Sicht auf das Meer. Herrlich ist die Terrasse mit Sitzgelegenheit direkt am Ufer. Die Anlage ist großzügig gestaltet und hat einen kleinen Strand, Parkplätze sowie einen food truck. Ein Teil der Zimmer ist frisch renoviert und bietet eine Übernachtung in bester Qualität. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft kann ich guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen.

Der Strand war leider nicht sofort zu finden. Frühstück gibt es leider keins.

It was on the water. There was a a food wagon selling bbq, we did not use it, it did smell good the l Iadies there very friendly.

The coffee machine had to be put on top of the fridge to be able to plug in, also the hairdryer was precariously plugged in in the bathroom, also when I had used the shower, the towel was stained, I just hope it was fake tan.could not tv, also could not open patio door onto deck, man on reception surly.

Very friendly staff Treated you like a fellow local. Not fancy and full of amenities

This property is such a great spot! Right off the bridge, across from the state park! Love the food truck right on property great food a bit pricey but that’s with everything in the Keys! The food was amazing ,staff friendly ,Kayaks for rent right in the office. Bait and fishing off docks nice private beach love everything about Edgewater!

The Ac was so loud rooms are a little older but they are remodeling . Not close to stores or food so make sure you stock up before getting in.
