Not far from areas but far enough away
Not that I didn’t like it, to each their own.. it was a little cluttered to my liking with decor but it was the cleanest place, for sure!

A great place to stay, slightly outside the center, but on walking distance. Lots of privacy and the host, Anthony, is extremely helpful, even brought me in his car to pick-up some food. As he lives in the same property, any questions are dealt with quickly. Highly recommended.
nothing in particular

It has a lot of character and in a great location. The bed was cozy and it’s pretty quiet. it is walking distance from the river walk on a warm day, but on cold or rainy days it’s a longer walk. The owner is very kind and helpful. The apartment itself has a lot of charm and feels like home.
It’s a historical building, so it is just a tub. No shower which isn’t too bad. it was nice to soak

The house has a relaxing, romantic vibe. We loved being surrounded by pictures of famous actors, actresses, and musicians. And we loved the Italian villa feel of the whole place! Very close to the Riverwalk among other attractions. Anthony was beyond helpful with the whole process, as this was our first time staying at a home rather than a hotel. There is so much to see in San Antonio and we can't wait to go back!
We didn't ask what the best way to get around town was. We overpaid using our own car to park in the lots and garage on our first day out. Afterwards we used Uber- almost half the cost!

very private
too many locks and gates
no shower. we are a senior couple. tough to get in and out of tub

Charming little place. I had the whole place, including a courtyard, all to myself for less than half the price my sister was paying for a hotel on the Riverwalk a mile or less away. The courtyard was begging for a guitar, but left mine at home, alas. Only caveat is that it’s not for the disabled. I’m partially disabled (bad head injury a year ago) and did fine, but if it were 6 months ago, I would have had significant problems with steps and a bit of gravel. Outlets can be a bit scarce, but perfectly manageable and I bring a lot of gear. Anthony was a very responsive host and a nice man.
Highly recommended.
Gate is a bit of a pain, but no big deal.

Wonderful host, beautiful historic home stunningly presented.
Access to lovely private garden area and hot tub!
Shower....
Unfortunately this property doesn't have a shower. Due to it being a historic home, (it's challenging to understand this when we live in a 500 year old cottage in the UK with 3 Bathrooms...), A house built in the 40s should at least have an adapter or mixer tap you'd think. The bath was tiny and I'm not sure how we would have managed this for 5 nights we're a 6' and 6'2" couple. (It has air con so why can't it have a shower?)
Bed....
Unfortunately super small and old. Everything is bigger in Texas? Not here! We couldn't comfortably sleep in the bed that was against the wall on one side, we just really couldn't get comfortable in this bed at all. I think with a new solid frame and mattress it would probably be doable.
Cockroaches...
This was the icing on the cake. The home is beautiful but has a lot of stuff, every surface there is stuff. It's a cockroach dream and after one of these critters being determined to enjoy the bathroom and another two making themselves known in the living room we couldn't hack it and left at midnight on our first night of 5.
We had to leave this properly and find a hotel after failing to sleep in the bed due to it being too small and uncomfortable and the cockroaches, we were so worried one was going to scuttle up the wall the bed was pressed against it was hard to relax.
Overall this properly is lovely to visit but it's not a relaxing stay. The home is eerie and the location is odd. The street is full of delapidated homes with 'no tresspassing' signs everywhere making it feel a touch unsafe. Our host explained it was due to the area suddenly becoming expensive due to the popularity of the river walk and it's close proximity, and owners wanting huge sums of money for these homes. This absolutely checks out but doesn't give it a good vibe when you rock up to stay here.

We enjoyed the Artsy/Quirky feel to the property. We appreciated having inside and outside spaces to relax in. The kitchen especially was very well equipped the bed was comfortable and we slept well.
Anthony was a perfect host being very attentive and always available.
We enjoyed the property and it’s location.

The atmosphere was overall cute. The Hot Tub was probably the best part we get it all to ourselves! having a TV in the bedroom was nice for being chill. Very quiet inside despite the LOUD road when you step out back.
The home is historical so there is NO shower. The items around the house were cute but the place is so tiny it made it even smaller/cramped. The mirror in the bathroom was way to high I couldn’t use it, but there was a face mirror on the counter if you’re short.

No breakfast but it wasn’t expected. Location seemed a little sketchy upon first arrival. It was behind the owners business/house but after settling in it was good and we had no problems. A few blocks from the north end of the Riverwalk but a very short, easy drive to downtown attractions. Accommodations were okay but felt cluttered by too many decorations. Step downs in front room and into bedroom make it questionable for those with mobility issues.
Too many decorations, insufficient interior lighting, and no shower.

The owner was very nice and informative. Showed me around the place as well as gave me recommendations of local events. The place was welcoming, cozy, and private. The location was within walking distance to the Riverwalk. I will most definitely be booking this place again when I come to visit.
A major freeway is literally within a block from the backyard and a hospital a few blocks away. The noise level isn't bad inside but can be a bit high outside. As an EMS provider, I recognize the sirens and it was a challenge for me to decompress. But this is everywhere for me.

I LOVE how cozy the little villa was! We felt right at home, relaxed in the tub after a long day on the Riverwalk. We went during Fiesta Festival, where the city was buzzing with people, but our villa was super quiet! The bed was comfy & I love having a full kitchen! I will stay here again & again when we come back to San Antonio!
The fact that I can’t live there!

The place is itself is amazing! It had everything we needed and was so comfortable. Perfect location as well I might add. Oh and Anthony was more than amazing himself. He had suggestions of his own personal things to do and places to eat and why tried them all and weren’t disappointed. My and husband came for our anniversary and my birthday weekend and we even got a cupcake and some wine as a gift was the sweetest ever! Thanks so much and we will be back!

The place was so cute and cozy. The owners bio on the place is spot on. Close to lots and in a very trusting neighborhood with big beautiful old homes. We loved the peace and quietness as well. He put so much detail and thought into the place. He was such a nice and friendly man whom always seemed concerned if we needed anything. Extremely helpful. We definetly are going to him when we are in the area..very trustworthy..thank you Anthony for making us feel at home.
