If you are looking for very basic accommodation in Filoti, then this is it. Plus points? The bed was not too uncomfortable, it was fairly quiet and it was centrally located !

If you are looking for very basic accommodation in Filoti, then this is it. They desperately need to refurbish all of the rooms here as the mold growing under the back of the toilet and the very basic shower facilities don’t make this a go to place. 70 euros a night in July may not seem expensive but we had friends staying in a brand new furnished Appartment in the same time for the same price, so I know there is better value for money even for basic back packer-style accommodation!

The location

The room we checked into had a faulty toilet and terribly curroded shower. We informed them and they quickly addressed, moving us to a new room, which was small but had a nice balcony. Staff are fast to respond and very friendly.

Beds were not good quality. Could feel springs through the thin matress. Not many hotels in this village; most people come on day trips. Lack of demand seems to spell poor value for money. The hotel would benefit from a thorough renovation and upgrade.

The apartment was located right next to Mile 44 cafe and it is a Greek version of a beer garden. Despina the hostess was amazing and provided us with everything that we needed, and even provided us with complimentary coffee and water on our way out after breakfast which was a bit surprise! The town of Filoti has many great restaurants, cats, and friendly people. The location is great for a morning hike of Mount Zas and you can reach the main town by bus for very cheap! We traveled as a couple on our honeymoon, but this town would also be perfect for a family as it’s very safe and a lot of other kids around.

Location was great. We were right in the center of town, but the unit was very quiet. We were able to easily access a hike to Mt Zas.

I wasn't sure who would be meeting us with the keys, and there was a moment of confusion!

Perfect location, close to the middle of town yet secluded. Comfortable balcony.

We picked up the keys from the cafe next door. The lady there was very nice and helpful during our stay. She gave us information, provided us with a larger pot for cooking etc. The accommodation is right in the center of the village (1 min walk to the bus stop). One can cook there and enjoy the meals on the balcony that overlooks the very nice garden of the cafe.

Personally, I found the beds too soft.

No hair drier. Garden lovely but is not private but part of adjoining cafe.

My room was beautiful, clean and spacious, and the block is right in the heart of the village. There is ready access to a very nice bar with a Greek name - it's the one with the mountain top olive tree

There was an issue in terms of communication, in that information about breakfast was not given when I checked in. A message with this info, I later found out, via booking.com was afterwards sent to me at 1 am in the morning however, but which did not reach me at that time or in the morning, since perhaps I don't have the booking.com app. An email letting me know that I had a message was never issued to me, perhaps because it was sent so late. In any case, I waited around for breakfast in the morning and even asked at the nearest bar if I get it there. Eventually I gave up and got it somewhere else. I later learnt that it's actually given slightly down the road a bit in that 44 mile bar/cafe. When paying the bill, I said that I obviously wouldn't be paying for the breakfast that I never got. The staff member then said that every other place would insist that I would pay this but that because he was generous he would let me away with it. At this point I got angry and told him to be more professional in that it's basic to give give the important information at check in when handing over over the keys, rather than attempting to send this in the early hours of the morning using a system that clearly does not guarantee that the message will always get through. I resent the fact that I got angry so as to set him straight about his laughable so called generosity - this shouldn't be part of a holiday. However, all other aspects of the accommodation were perfect though.
